Default my neighbor is going to kill me...lol (Dear lord we hope so)

So apparently I have a crazy neighbor. He was standing outside today when my Subaru alarm beeped, and he essentially told me if he heard that noise every morning, "you might get your throat cut in your sleep." I was nice to the guy from the start because I don't need to make enemies my 2nd day in there, but apparently this guy is nuts.

I'm not too freaked out considering I have a 12 gauge sawed off pistol grip moss 509 semi-auto. But I did take the first two rocksalt rounds out and swapped in buck-shot.

What's my best action at this point, aside from making the news?

sit in back of car with said shotgun, set off alarm, wait and make non-premeditated decisions on the fly

actually, I just decided that I am. I'm going to make a complaint and get a report from the police. That way if something does happen, there's a record of this event. I may be a ***** like mrmiatagi, but if someone breaks into my apartment like he said he would, then there won't be much of a trial after I protect myself... again.

he has to either be on my property at night or be in my house. Aside from that, its a judgment call, and a risk I'm not willing to take. It would be cool if I could just shoot at people in traffic though.

I had an incident involving a few guys making an attempt at a home invasion next door and then stealing one of my cars and me emptying a Glock into said car, the investigating officer asked for an explanation that would satisfy his boss so that there wouldn't be an attempted murder charge brought against me.

1> Put a perimeter mine setup on your property
2> Put car alarm on "repeat"
3> Purchase his property on the cheap and wait for the market to rebound.

Get the police report for sure.
I like the perimeter mine idea as well though. I say put the rocksalt back in the first round so you don't have to kill him the first shot, jut let him feel it.

or do it the other way around and just wound him and then give him a blast of salt in the wound. And put a hidden camera next to the car please.

Actually, you are allow to protect your property, person, or another person anytime it's threatened by what would be considered necessary to prevent or terminate a threat to yourself or your property. Take a concealed carry class if you have not already. That way you know the rules.

PC §9.41. PROTECTION OF ONE'S OWN PROPERTY. (a) A person
in lawful possession of land or tangible, movable property is justified in
using force against another when and to the degree the actor reasonably
believes the force is immediately necessary to prevent or terminate
the other's trespass on the land or unlawful interference with the
property.

PC §9.42. DEADLY FORCE TO PROTECT PROPERTY. A person is
justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible,
movable property.
