Should I sell the 91 Miata and 94 Integra and buy a used NSX (~80k miles)?

I've really been pretty motivated about turboing the Miata, but it seems I keep running into little maintenace problems. Plus, it's not really a ho-go-getter car. I'd also need to sell all my stuff I've collected over the years for both cars.

Integra has to be sold. I'm tired of this car.

I have a spare Camry at home that I can use as a reliable beater.

From what I understand, NSXs are pretty reliable cars but can cost an arm and a leg to repair. I'm sure I would do most of the work on the car, as long as it's simple like Hondas and Mazdas

RELIABILITY, insurance costs, upkeep, gas mileage, theft, etc are my main concerns for the NSX.

What do you guys think?

buy the nsx. personally i hate honda's but they are the stuff

would selling a 91 miata really be that beneficial to buying an NSX? might as well take out a small loan and have a track whore and a poor man's R8

It's not so much the money covering the NSX, rather another parking space and another insurance payment.

how much are r-comps, brake pads, rotors, and we know the exhaust is $3k. I wanted a c5z until I realized what all that shit would cost me, then the miata was a real bargain.

I'd love to have an NSX, but its a lot cheaper to go the turbo miata route, which is much faster on the track and cheaper all the way around.

I wanted a turbo Porsche and I bought one. Now my wallet is always empty. I'd say go for it!

Send Tom4416 on .net a pm. I know he just picked up a used NSX to go along side several of his miatas. He could probably give you some better ownership advise about the NSX then most of us.

be warned everthing for the nsx is expensive. the timing belt is $180 and the water pump is $280, front pads are $200, window regulator is $560, just to give you an idea on how much everthing is.

And yet, in one of his earlier endeavors, Corky built a turbo set up for the NSX...

i think you would have more fun in a boosted miata. especially if you had the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself.

and like a few others have said it's going to be easier to find parts for the miata.

Sheeeiiiit! Get the low-mile NSX.
They aren't exactly going down in value.
They aren't making any more of them.
They have that "Je ne sais quoi."
And face it, it isn't exactly difficult to find a Miata to turbo again up the road.

I'd love to have one just to have experienced it for a while and then flip it. But then, I want one of everything just to experience it. Life is the sum of your experiences. Stir the pot a little and enrich your life.

I would go for the NSX. Its a reliable super car! Its not often you come across an NSX for sale. If you decide you want to get another miata again in the future, they wont be hard to come by!

How old are you and what is your relationship situation?

NSX will get you respect and attention from just about anyone. Miata will get you ... umm.... well....I guess if you want to troll for drag queens it's the car for you.
