This car just saved my life

So I was driving to my 6:30 class about 30 minutes ago, minding my own business. I was going 70 mph in the left lane of an unlit part of a two-lane highway. At this point in time, the highway was pretty crowded due to rush hour traffic. I look in my rearview mirror to check where the traffic was behind me. I look back. BAM. There is a big, fat DEER not more than 5 feet from the center of the nose of the miata. With cheetalike reflexes, I swerve to the right as hard as I could on the depowered steering. Somehow I was able to at 70 mph get almost completely into the right lane in a matter of a split second. Had there been somebody to my right it would have been curtains for me. I hear a prominent "thud" as what I am assuming the rear of the deer's leg hit my fender. The back tires snapped back, and the car almost started fishtailing, but thankfully the rear regained traction so the cars behind me wouldn't slam my ass. I am positive that if I was in a bigger, different car, I probably wouldn't have been able to move out of the way quickly enough. I am still pretty shaken up. That is all :D

Thanks Koss, let Eva know. I'm sure she'll care more than we will.

If you hit the deer with the rear of your car, how is the deer? I believe if you hit a deer and kill it (accidentally) you can request to keep the meat. I may be mistaken...

In OH, you could take possession of the carcass immediately so long as you notified a game warden or sheriffs officer within 24 hours. Illinois is sufficiently inbred / backwoods / redneck that I assume the same is true there.

Mmm. Road deer.

Years ago I was driving to a friends house and my buddy had just rolled a fat blunt on the way over. I do believe we were in the process of passing it when I hit a deer head on. We were doing like 40-45mph if I had to guess. I shot the fucker like 15 feet at least. That shit was just the beginning of the night too.

The next day I rolled into school with deer blood and shitpiss all over the fucked up hood and bumper. Lol
