I met Norman Garrett today. Super nice guy, very friendly and genuine. We didn't get a chance to talk much, but it was a neat experience.

You work in the same building as a celebrity every day. Rick's the man when it comes to rotaries.

I liked it back in the day when I thought life couldn't get any better than a Borla cat-back and some Tokico Illuminas.

Pasting a picture of your idol David Hasselhoff to your mirror does NOT count.

I met him a few months ago, actually. Very down-to-earth.

I like Garrets book it has alot of neat details in it while i agree it is not the end all be all it does show alot of cool stuff.
MR2cup i think braineak is talking about the resistor mod to safely make more power on modified cars. And the fact that they say a JRSC hit 140 towards the end of the book and that a 200whp miata is a all out dragster.

Braineack 01-22-2008 01:56 PM

ill have to pull the book from the shelf. but yeah few random little "tricks" like the 160° thermostat for a "safe" way to add fuel.

in a self defined realm, for example -
* President of the Miata Club of America, so famous (in the early years anyway) among club members.
* Project Engineer for the Miata, probably made him famous among Mazda employees involved in the creation of Mazda's new models, undoubtedly increasing with favorable reviews of the car.

y8s 01-22-2008 02:41 PM

oh.

Like when I was hanging out in SF with my sis and her friends goin to see a random jazz student band at this cafe and i met her friend's uncle and he turns out to be author Tobias Wolff (the guy who wrote This Boy's Life). Random.
