Hmm. Guess somebody was bound to do it. Seems like if you were going to go to all the trouble, you'd at least outfit it with EFI & DIS.

Engine bay is tidy, but the cutout in the hood looks unfinished.

wow. The BMW purists must be flipping out.

A friend of mine covets the Z3, but as he researched buying a used one, he found that almost all of them have the rear diffs separating from the unibody. The fix is around 3k, and in some cases, the unibody splits along the weld lines.

Some guy has offered a retrofit kit that puts extra 'ears' on the diff, and beefs up the cross member so that the rear is a little beefier.

Wonder what kind of power it actually makes. I'd much rather see that motor in something that really needs the torque...

One of my best friends has a Z3 2.8 and an M Coupe. He bought the coupe for cheap because the diff mounts had failed. He bought that retrofit kit and fixed it, learning to weld in the process.

IROC 5-speed manual T10: He must have meant T-5. Not sure I'd trust one behind that much power in a 3000lbs+ vehicle, even a world class box.

Gay. I would have rather seen a big BMW V8 shoved under an unmodified hood for a clean yet crazy car.
