Contrary to popular belief...

... I'm not dead.

To those that know me, sorry about the absence. To those that don't, welcome to the board, yada, yada...

I've been "otherwise occupied" with business travel, family drama and other bit's-n-pieces; most of which have been sorted out. I can't guarantee I'll return to my daily review of the board, but I shouldn't see another 7(+) month absence.

More to follow...

Hi Larry. Ever driving that turbo miata? Ready to come play at the track? I miss all you south Texas guys.

Not driving it anywhere near enough.

From 01 Jan to 31 May I logged only 34 days at home. I've managed to spend less time on the road (for business) this summer, but am already making plans for the trips this fall.

I've developed an exhaust leak, most likely from the external wastegate. I really need to take Sav up on his offer to build a set of COPS, order the 225 fuel pump and then get everything up to Corky's for install/repair, a new intake manifold, reclock the cams and then dyno-tuning to make things "right".

Problem is, with the family issues I've been dealing with since about Thanksgiving, I've been hesitant to spend the $$$, not knowing if the pocketbook could handle it. Now that I have (most of) the family drama resolved, my youngest kid is about to turn 16 and wants/needs a car.

BTW - I still have that S/S-mesh if you ever get your carcass this way...

Sounds like a personal problem.

It should not be automatic that a 16 year old gets a car. Make 'em suffer.

That's nothing a $1500 Miata can't fix.

I vowed when my daughter was born that the only way she got a car at 16 was if she had bought her own hoopty 6months prior and helped me do the wrenching to make it road worthy. If she did that I was going to let her trade it in to me at double market value towards a nicer car after a year of solid driving experience.
