oh, and I also have been a fan of the CLK-GTR ever since playing NFS III: Hot Pursuit on the computer.

I also love the GC8

these to add to my list.

It's not like I would daily drive an F1, seeing as they are so rare and expensive these days. And if I could afford an F1, why would I work on it myself. I'd be throwing handfuls of money at my personal staff while I sipped on a drink.

This is my problem. Choosing just one would be impossible for me. I'm already indecisive, so I know a choice like this would make my go crazy. One pops into my head and I think "Oh! That's the coolest!" but then it's followed by another, and then another, and so on.

So getting away from the race cars (guilty), if I could drive any car to work, it would be something like a GT40 (not the new Ford GT, the GT40 is cooler) or a Factory Five GTM. But, they would have to be cars that I built myself, full out. Top of the line suspension, tires, brakes, nice interior, and a screaming high-rpm turbo V8, maybe even a Hartley turbo V8. Yes, and air conditioning for Texas driving duty.

Now that is cool, arriving in a sexy, stupid fast car, with an apocalyptic sound that spreads fear from a mile away, that you built yourself. Much cooler I think then arriving in a cool car that you wrote a check for.

So....
This

plus this (Ariel version shown)

plus a couple of these

plus a lot of wrenching, fabrication, painting...
EQUALS

Remember the Chrysler ME Four-Twelve. Before the Bugatti Veyron.

You said it. Here are a few more.

Ferrari Dino 246 GTS (I prefer the GT):

Steve McQueen's brown Lusso (yes, I like brown):

This Alfa (either a prototype or a custom, depending on which site you're on):

Ferrari 250 GT (Bertone Berlinetta?):

And this "Zinc Miura" (aka ZN-75) show car:

RUF CTR2
Escort Cosworth
Lotus Carlton
You are all precisely correct, especially Trickyrix with the CTR. Only RUF is mad enough to stuff all of the Turbo running gear into a standard narrow-body 911 in order to reduce aerodynamic drag.

Here is Hans Stuck scaring the **** out of you using a CTR:

I'm torn here.

On the one hand, the GTM is probably the only original-design kit car currently on the market that's still going to look good 40 years from now. But on the other hand, it's a little too much Daniel Craig, and not quite enough Roger Moore. I mean, obviously James Bond can split your head open in the blink of an eye, but he's supposed to do it with a ball-point pen, not a battle-axe.

(That said, I would still give my left nut for one of those MegaBusa engines.)

That is a bad thing? Craig is a much better Bond than Moore. Oh man, forget I said that since it will result in a Bond thread jack.

I too lust after one of those V8 Busa motors. That is my dream powerplant for a Miata... or a GTM... or an Atom...

He's working on Steve McQueen's car, and he's carrying Steve McQueen's gun.
