No, Just Turbodog and R1600. :P

Indeed. plus i bet the bashing will subside a bit when it's realized it isn't just falling on deaf ears. You might see them go from outright bashing to more constructive criticism.

I don't think it has anything to do with having a thin skin, but chosing where to spend your free time. Chances are few regulars here are going to buy an FM kit, both because we're cheap and the DIY mentality most of us have.

If Keith hung out here it would likely be because he enjoyed participating on this forum. Hard to do when alot of folks here are just looking for reasons to hate on them.

He's also a member of a bunch of different forums, not just m.net

I know he posts on the grassrootsmotorsports forum quite frequently

The people you appear to be talking about aren't looking for reasons to "hate on them" most of them hate first then slowly start to like something. WE don't need a reason to hate, it comes natural.

I think your point is pretty damn lame and is a shitty attempt to place blame where there is none to be placed. Stop getting your panties in a twist over nothing. I don't think the folks at FM are having a hard time putting food on the table because of mt.net.

It's proper to doubt, question and argue. Blind faith is a moron’s game.

Besides, this forum isn't all full of cheap bastards. Look at the recent wave of Bell kit orders to prove that. There's money to be spent here, and I don't think FM is even trying to get any of our business on a miata TURBO forum, which i find odd.

You can act dismissive about the serious tendancy to bash FM while ignoring or praising BEGI when they do the same **** if you want.

You're right, blind faith either way is a morons game, so is blind hate.

To be doubtful is the consumers roll. "Hate" is probably to harsh of a word but it seems to get the point across.

I don't really find it odd at all, though. More than anything, this is a DIY forum, and FM doesn't exactly cater to the DIYer. They cater to the wine and cheeser, the person whose time is worth enough that it ends up being more economical for them to go to work and then pay someone else to turbocharge their Miata. Those people hang out at M.net, and so does FM. Nothing wrong with that, per say, but that's IMHO just the way it is.

I agree with you. However, I still think they would get more business if they were more active and answered questions here, poste more, etc. There are people that come here and learn enough to know they don't want to build a DIY turbo setup for some reason, then end up buying a kit. I can only guess FM is working on a baseline kit to compete against the cheap Begi kits that are becoming very popular. If they get themselves established here they will sell more of these kits when they're available. (If they are making a kit to compete- This is my guess)

Pretty sure I remember Keith or Jeremy saying they weren't going to. Wouldn't surprise me if they changed their minds, though.

DIY isn't FM's business model. that's pretty clear. They probably decided long ago to only offer a complete solution. There's nothing wrong with that--it's their choice to not get into the DIY market. Just like my company makes virtual reality displays that are 30,000 dollars a pop. We will not make a mass-market VR display. Business choice.

i would still like to see FM's presence here, where the truth is told and no mods step in to cover their precious sponsors...i think it's one thing MTnet has over every other forum

i think the bashing will indeed turn into constructive criticism
based on MTnet concensus, they may start catering to the DIY'ers, how often do you see a WTB add titled "BEGi/FM mani/DP"...
i have never bought anything from either of those companies, but based on the stories i hear, i dont ever want to call FM up for anything...i think FM's presence here would make that outcome different

This is one of the (many) failings of the internet. You are forming an opinion about something based on potentially incorrect or incomplete information. The people with a problem or the one's with a an axe to grind are usually the loudest, and often paid attention to. More often than not those that are happy do not advertise it, beyond being a loyal customer (how many of those does FM have)?

I'm not drinking the kool-aid. I will not join the cult of FM or BEGI. I've had positive and negative experiences with both. But over all the experience with both has been both mostly positive. As such I'll continue to do business with both.

What I don't like to see are people jumping on the bandwagon with out doing any homework or thinking themselves. I honestly think that the reputation both vendors have here isn't necessarily earned.

No I wait to be accused of being an FM Fanboi. Hear that Keith, send me free parts please or at least some stickers!

i know what your saying, i was just pointing out the flaws, i have yet to need anything from either co.
my comment has a bit of sarcasm masked in, lol
but i agree, i hear tons of negative, a lot of it is true and i would agree on, and i do agree on, but im sure most of it is exagerated...like everything else

still, FM needs to have MTnet sized ***** and be present here as well, it will help them, and it will help MTnet

A FM and BEGi pissing match here will help no one....half you of cant even turn the key to the ignition without asking if you're turning it the right way.

I'm quite sure that with FM having a presence here that most will think before they post. It's easy to attack someone when you know they won't respond. More difficult when you might actually have to justify your words.

I hope that ANY vendor coming here to participate will go through the old posts to see what kind of audience they have. Maybe Tom@FFS will be the next to grace us with his presence.
