Wait, what happened to those? A quick look says they are anywhere from $35k to $135k for similar looking models. (I just looked up 1987 as a quick search) Why is the price range so huge?

This x100.

Two guys I used to work with did this exact thing.

One even had the motor drop a valve not long after he bought it. Still doesn't matter. The car is worth way more than 2x what he has into it.

93 miata boosted - $1800

I have a 93 Mazda miata that use to be boosted I have everything to complete the boost except turbo and intercooler. It still has old turbo on it but previous owner welded it shut. It tries to flood out between 1-3k rpms due to the turbo not working. It's my DD and I trust it but I have kids and my other crapped out on me so I need something with back seats.

Pros and cons

Pros: has greddy manifold greddy e-manage ultimate ecm with greddy turbo timer has mad dog roll cage and air to fuel and oil pressure gage on the window post. new valve cover gasket good tires and 4 inch magnaflow exhaust.

Cons has a small hole in the top near the bottom but don't leak at all. You have to keep the car above 3k rpms for it to run right. Needs new pilot bearing it makes noise but don't affect the shifting of the car. Needs hood. Headlight motors don't work the headlights stay up. Trade has to run and drive good and needs to be able to be a daily driver no trade is a stupid trade but no junk. Wyg?

No, I was all set up to get them but decided I needed the money to finish my race car first. Also didn't have 10+ hours to kill driving to get them.

Are they still listed?

I talked to the guy quite a bit. Apparently the scales are ~12 years old, and the battery doesn't hold a charge anymore so they have to be plugged in at all times.

So take the unit apart and replace the battery. Our pallet scale at work has a similar display. Uses a 6 volt battery pack. 4 bolts open up the back cover and the battery plugs in with a 2 prong cable.

Not a deal breaker, just an annoyance.

The big reason I didn't jump on them is time. I didn't/don't have 10-12 hours to kill on any weekend driving for a CL deal until like May.

I went to check on a CL listing of mine and was annoyed I had to scroll past all of this bullshit. If you search Raleigh craigslist for "miata" this comes up:

Yeah, it is especially bad here. Just multiply it by 20 and you have the SFbay craigslist. Just garbage filled with keywords. I am surprised that their isn't a craigslist browser that doesn't search intelligently. I almost have to use the relevance button to find anything, and even then it's mostly blown out stuff listed for months at above retail pricing. In summary, craigslist people are the worst.

Just for kicks, I searched for Miata on my local CL. A few spam hits (eg: people willing to trade their motorcycle or boat for a Miata, specifically), but mostly on-point. This was on the first page:

I always search "mazda miata" and I don't get nearly as much spam.

D0r1ft0?

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata
232 Miles
Navigation, automatic transmission, convertible
Runs and drives at the lot

Still has that new car smell. Parts list includes a fender, door, quarter panel, wheel, seat belt, seat airbag and trailing arm. Total parts cost from the dealer is less than $1700. Save thousands and own an almost new, incredible convertible.

I'm more curious about what kind of idiot thought it was smart to just hack into the quarter like that, even if it was damaged
