It's a 2001 Miata with a GM Performance LS3 525HP crate motor. I bought it last year from the mechanic who built it. It was his 3rd swap and it was done right. In the summer and a half I have driven it I have had zero issues with it. It's a well sorted amazingly fun rocket powered roller skate.

My wife absolutely hates it, mostly because my friends keep telling her I'm going to wreck it. No traction control, no airbags, it is visceral fun. A stock Miata is 2400 pounds. The aluminum V8 engine adds 100 as does the Tremex transmission. 2600/525=4.9 pounds per HP. See the pics for a chart of how that stacks up against the best cars in the world.

I'm tall (6'2") and fat (285 pounds) but because I bolted the Kirkey racing seat right to the floor I fit in it great. I also replaced the driver's door handle (see pic) with a spring loaded pull and the steering wheel with a smaller one so now my knee has plenty of room when shifting. It had both the 5 point harness and regular seat belt. Not that you should ever have it up, but the top is in great shape. If you are shorter you can drill new holes and move the seat up, or put in the stock seat, which I still have.
I have the OEM wheels with basically brand new tires and well as the G-Games 18" wheels with brand new Yokohama S-Drive 225/35/18 tires all the way around.

The AC is the factory unit that came with the crate motor, but I never put a belt on it, because I never have the top up. I NEVER drive this in the rain because it is insane enough w/o additional loss of traction from wet roads. It has a custom radiator and hood vents to allow the air to pass thru. Never any overheating issues, even on the hottest summer days.

I bought it with 5k miles on the engine and I've put another 5k on it. Body has 127k.

This is the funnest car I have ever owned, and I've owned a lot of great cars.

If you wanted to duplicate this car Flyin' Miata in Denver would charge you $50k and plus the cost of the Miata.

I am selling because I promised my wife I would.

Trades: A newer Class B or Class C motorhome. If it's nice enough we can do car + $$ = RV. Work truck or van. Something big enough to haul 4x8 plywood.

I'm over in Grand Rapids. I bought this car in Chicago and trailered it home, but that was in February 2015. I would not hesitate to drive the 3 hours to Chicago as long as there was 0% of rain.
