Except that in the ad he states that at that price, it's no hardtop, stock wheels, and stock suspension.

Edit: I'm an idiot, Joe's right.

You sure?

I interpreted the posting as "I will also throw in the stock parts that I took off in case you want them."

Merits clarification.

1995 Mazda Miata. 1.8 litre. 81,000 miles. I purchased the car from an older lady who owned the car for 15 years. Car runs great and is in awesome shape. Interior is clean and comes with factory hardtop. Has performance suspension, RoadsterSport3 exhaust,TRmotorsports wheels with Dunlop Direzza ZII tires, and a few smaller additions. Will come with stock wheels/tires, stock suspension and the soft top and frame which i removed. I do not need to sell but I will be traveling more and am looking to buy a bigger car. I just had the oil changed and an alignment done at Community Honda. I have put a few upgrades on the car and will discuss via text anytime or phone call after 5pm. I enjoy this car and will keep if I do not get a serious buyer.$4600. Wouild entertain a trade for a clean dirtbike/sport quad plus cash. Can remove aftermarket wheels and tires to lower price. 5632one2 9four five 8th
I agree it's poorly worded; but I think he's saying it comes with the stock wheels, suspension, and top along with the aftermarket parts and HT. Then he offers to reduce price by keeping the TRs and selling it on the stock daises. Or maybe I can't read?

Gotta strip the text:

I have a stanced 93 Mazda miata 5 speed, runs great all it needs is hood front cover light cover and taillights it just has a crack in it. Also you will need a top for it it's only $150.00 I don't need a top because I park in a garage and only drive it on nice days. It's RWD it's such a fun car.also it's got the carpets taken out due to leaky top.it gets 30 mph. Looking for 1800 am looking for trades Contact Richard at show contact info

IDK if a '93 will get 30mph, those 1.6s are really slow.

These ads make me cringe so hard. I really want to meet the people that do things like put tap-out stickers on the car. I also want to meet the person that buys a car like that.

This isn't horrible, but still wtf.

1990 Mazda Miata MX5 5 speed manual, Forest Green exterior, black interior

New shocks with 1 3/4 LOWERING SPRINGS

196k on it.runs good smokes about 20 sec when started in the morning so the valve stem seals are a little worn.

the body is straight but the rear license plate plastic is cracked

timing belt, the water pump and the alternator replaced about 4k ago

a new VLSD diff put in 5 months ago

just put a new top on it a month ago
decent tires with stock daisy wheels painted black

the car has a/c but does not work because it is missing the condenser

if you have any questions call or text Chris any time the price is $3100 and I need to sell it asap.
Here is another for the luls, a honda this time, sad he wants a miata to ruin next.

I have for trade mainly a 96 honda civic ex coupe. I just recently swapped in a d16y8 with about 7k on a rebuild. Runs great.
Is using an obd1 system with p28.
Does engage vtec.
The mounts are solid polyurethane.
It has headers to a full magma flow exhaust.
skunk2 intake manifold.
10.2mm spark plug wires.
Ground kit
It has del sol front seats.
Aftermarket steering wheel.
Integra gauge cluster.
No cel.
The exterior has a mugen replica front lip, mugen grille, and ctr rear lip. It is black with red hood.
Lowered on DNA lowering springs, will soon have omni power full coil overs, once I put the coil overs on the price goes up.
Si rear sway bar.
Camber kit.
Strut and tie rod braces all around
Brand new tires on hx wheels.

I'm mainly looking to trade for a rear wheel drive. Pretty much anything, just take a chance and ask if I'm interested. I really want a miata, has to have a clean top, but I really want a miata. Would like another rx7 but only fc or fd. Or maybe a 240? If it's worth it to me maybe another civic, would prefer a hatch. BMW Lexus Mercedes etc. Just lemme know what you have. NO PROJECTS! And NO AUTOMATICS, I only drive standard. I just finally got mine out of the project stage so I want a daily. Otherwise 3000 obo cash, but it's my daily so I'll only sell if I have another lined up to buy.
What is a "mainly 96 honda civic". Why is mainly there. Also MAGMA FLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, only when vtac engages.

pdexta May 13, 2014 01:34 PM

Magma flow sounds really really hot, DON'T TOUCH!!!!!!

Overpriced Miatas
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1400025420

Hey guys with the miatas, these kbb at around 2200 in excellent condition, maybe less if older than 94. Excellent meaning flawless, not a crap ton of miles and even matching tires. Stop being ignorant and trying to get 2-3 times what your car is worth. If someone wanted to spend 5 grand they could go get a real nice one slammed, and in perfect condition with leather seats. AND why would they pay you 2-3 grand for something that needs a transmission in an "nb" that will cost almost another grand just in parts.

GET REAL!
I guess the slammed stanced miatas are the expensive, nice ones.
:bowrofl:

FRT_Fun May 13, 2014 08:46 PM

I sympathized with the guy until he talked about slammed miatas.

rleete May 13, 2014 08:47 PM

Sounds like somebody can't find a car they want for what their cheap ass can afford.

dieselmiata May 13, 2014 08:59 PM

Perhaps he missed the "supply and demand" part of his economics class?

FRT_Fun May 13, 2014 09:12 PM

How much demand is there for a $5000 beat to shit miata? I feel like these people put up their CL ads for really high prices because they see other shit miatas for that price. Then eventually they take them down because no one wants to buy their shit car. Other people then think that it sold for that price and post their car for that much. I really don't think there is demand for these high priced miatas. Maybe I am wrong.

dieselmiata May 13, 2014 09:35 PM

Take a look over at M.net for quantification. There are a lot of people who are overpaying for Miata's in poor condition. Granted, there are a lot of dreamers on CL trying to sell their drift missile for a large sum, but there are also a lot of people who are actually paying upwards of 5K for high mileage Miatas with rust.

Crazy. Thankfully if I buy another miata it'll be off the factory floor.

I don't believe you.

curly May 14, 2014 09:09 AM

I think a lot of the stanced $5-6k Miatas are expecting trades. Go figure, they get bored of the bump stops and cut off exhaust fairly quickly and like to just trade cars among their fellow idiots. The price is just a place holder.

I suggested this scenario to my friend the other day.

If you had a magic button that would magically and instantly restore every single car in the world to factory fresh 0 mile condition, including getting rid of any and all modifications, would you press it?

I personally concluded that I'd like the button to only restore my body work and paint to factory.

It would certainly make my project a lot easier.

Absolutely, yes. It would significantly decrease the fair-market-value of nearly all used cars, with a disproportionately large depreciation applying to vehicles which are oldest and rarest. This would enable me to more easily afford certain off my dream cars which are presently either out of reach or impractical to restore.
