I don't mind the CL flakes. You just learn not to go out of your way if the person seems a bit flakey. If you want to meet in a public, well-lit place no further than 10 minutes from my house sometime within the next day, that's great. If you want me to hold it for two weeks, or drive 45 minutes round trip to meet you, or if you stop responding to texts/emails on the day we're supposed to meet, then I'm bailing on you and I won't feel bad about it. If you ask me for my best price, I will refer you to the listed price in the ad. If you make an offer for less than 75% of the listed price, I'll politely respond "No, thanks" but I will not bother countering. If you attempt to tell me why my item isn't worth what I'm asking and that you can get it cheaper elsewhere, I will tell you that it sounds like a great deal and enthusiastically encourage you to purchase it at the cheaper price available to you.
I do grow weary of all the offers to trade for dirtbikes that need a little work. |
Or jetski trades, can't forget the jetskis :giggle:

I always find it humorous when a seller tries to convince people that his item is rare and valuable: Up for sale is my very rare 1978 Puma GTE Coupe. If your not familiar with Pumas, here's a quick background. They were Brazilian factory made sports cars that utilized VW Karmann Ghia running gear (and at some point they also used chevy running gear as well) These were not allowed in the US at the time due to some fed regulations but they were imported into Canada and thats were this one came from. Some thought that these were simply kit cars or replica cars but in fact they were factory built in Brazil. These were kind of like a Brazilian Miata. Some cars were imported into the US and to get around the regulation they were shipped in without certain components and the buyer would put these parts on. This car is Yellow with black interior with some yellow trim. Very comfortable car to drive with it's reclining seats. It has brand new rims and tires (less than 500 miles on them), the body is in great shape and shows very well. There are a couple paint touch up spots but nothing major. Interior is in very good condition as well. Has new am-fm-cd-usb stereo, all electrical items work except for the tach. (simple fix) The car runs and drives very well. The engine is a peppy 1835cc VW 4 cylinder with Porsche cooling fan shroud, G040 Heads, Roller rocker arms, Petronics pointless ignition, Monza exhaust. 4 speed with short shift kit. The car itself shows 99770 kilometers (about 60,000 miles) This is a very unique car for both driving and showing. Sort of looks like a little Ferarri Dino. |
so, it has literally........the worst parts from the worst cars
very rare indeed |
To be fair, the stock front brakes on the Ghia were less awful than the stock front brakes on the Beetle.
Same torsion-beam suspension, though. But at least they had ball-joints in '78. (Prior to '66, VWs didn't use ball-joints. I shit you knot.) |

I have yet to receive a response when I've sent that out, and I believe I'm better off for it. |
After going back through my old posts in this thread, I think the last car I posted about is actually a second shitty drift sploder.
Here is the last post I made about it. TRIGGER WARNING!!!!!! The following may cause extreme emotional distress.

Big Ass Beige Antec Custom Computer Case
Selling an ancient massive beige Antec SX1030B case. This thing is fucking massive, and might be a fun project for anyone looking to build a sleeper rig. And this thing is HEAVY. I'm not talking about my crazy ex I met in South Africa while drunk and feelin the heat, I'm talking tank-level steel here. I'd put this thing between myself and the thin wall between my angry alcoholic gun-lovin neighbors and trust it to stop the .22 shells that occasionally punch through because Ol' Ted was caught coming home late from the bar again. Goddammit, Ted. AND, THIS THING HAS FAN MOUNTS. Dude, remember the Intel P4? Remember how fuckin hot that piece of sexy got? Well, Antec solved that problem long ago, and the solution was thick steel to conduct heat better, and a metric shit ton of fans. I'm talking at least 5 fan mounts, and that's just what I saw glancing around. There might even be some aging gnomes in there waving egyptian eucalyptus leaves to gently waft the heat away from ur sleepin beauty of an Intel i7 6950x (10 fuckin cores baby, can you believe that shit?!) Also, don't you hate modern cases where you can't fit the goddamn boardmother in there? Antec solved that bullshit too. Other manufacturers put in removable trays behind the web of wires and hardware. Antec was like hell no, make it bigger. And that's what they did. PLENTY of room to move around in there. I'm talking elbows for those stubborn-ass DIMMs, and hell, you could probably build that sleeper rig in there, and then pack in my friend's mom too, and STILL have room to keep your Eskimo takeout warm. Anyway, cleaning out my computer closet and need to get rid of this thing as it's just taking up space. If you see this ad still up, I still got it. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1467329151 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1467329151 |
I used to have that exact same case. It was my first ATX build.
It's every bit as massive as the seller makes it sound. |
Same here- I had nearly the same antec case for my first computer. I remember the computer being incredibly heavy.
|
It was my first case as well. Got to love that sharkyextreme advice circa 2000.
In my poorly defined sense of permanence, a huge overbuilt case was necessary for that upgrade as you go mentality. That disappeared as soon as the next wave of aluminum cases came out. This case would crush your fingers if you were not careful, and transporting it back and forth to college was a nightmare. I gave it away on the street a couple years ago. |
I think I threw one of those out last year in my annual make room for other useless shit days.

Call and ask if it comes with all the stock parts, including the fenders, so you can fix it and not drive around looking like a tool.
I don't understand how cars like that are road legal. |
