So I asked my dad if he'd take some pics of the Miata as long as he's babysitting it, and he did, so I thought I'd share. They're way better than any pics I've taken of it.

Man, I don't really know why, but your car looks GOOD.
|
Looks great. Only thing I would do is paint the rockers red. How about some engine and interior shots? Looks like you have red door panels.

How can you have a lip at that ride height? I mocked up an R lip with cardboard and tried some driveways and it scraped everywhere. Do you live in a dream world where it's all flat?
Good looking car. Just needs painted rockers. |

Thanks for all the kind words!
I think this is the latest engine shot: Attachment 211559 I don't really have any current interior shots, there's not a whole lot going on in there anyway. I recovered the upper doors and dash pads with red vinyl (like the LE) and the bottom half is denim w/ no armrest. Momo champion wheel and AWD gauges, and boost and WB02 in the middle AC vents. Seems painting the rockers is highly recommended, I'll consider it. I don't like the idea of the rear skirt though. |
makes me think i should have traded my chin spoiler for that one when i had the chance, looks great painted.
|
Damn. Not a big fan of red Miatas but that looks hot.
I kinda like the black rockers. Gives it contrast and paint down there gets chipped easily. |
very classy. i also think you should paint the rockers red

For comparison....black rockers w/o lip - body line seems balanced.
With front lip painted and black rockers, car looks to be front heavy. |

black air dam, black rockers, and black rear lip looks pretty good imo
|
I like the black rockers but after the comments I went back a looked again. I would paint the lip black before I would paint the rockers, especially on a lowered car. Stock height all red helps "lower" it but on yours, black with a black lip would be tits.
Super nice looking car, though. Props to dad for taking it out and shooting it for you. Pics came out well. |
looks damn good. where is that? looks kinda familer

Seriously, I was on the fence about the k1s but this sorta seals it. What color are those (can't tell if they're the white or the gray, thinking gray). Also, what size are those?

Nah, but I've always had lowered cars so I'm pretty confident in my ability to avoid major hazards that might damage the lower half of the car. There are a few battle scars, like the dent in the PS rocker panel (might have to squint, I painted over it to lessen its visibility), the small crack in the lip (DS, 3-4" inboard of the left endtank) and various scrapes under the car. Florida is pretty friendly too it, Georgia was less so but still manageable. Lemme dig up a pic taken from my old driveway... Attachment 211532 |
Looks real good! Whats your ride height? around 12.0"?
|
Never measured it, GCs are 5/8" from bottomed, and it has FCM mounts. The pinchwelds are just below my Craftsman jack on the PS, I can just fit it under on the driver's side.

Your brave. If something that cost $200 was that close to the ground on my car I would be afraid to drive it. Then again the roads here are terrible. Sure looks good though, I want one.

I'm a little surprised no one has asked me why my car is higher on the DS than the PS, I guess this forum has enough experienced petrolheads that it's understood why.
|
^ yup.
