Default Dammit - I want my '94 MOAB and now its going to snow.

Those of you have actually spend time contributing to the m-net power forum are probably aware I bought a 94 MOAB Miata from Larry in December.

I have not yet seen the car but was really hoping to finally pick it up this weekend since the snow is gone. I was planning to leave early Saturday morning and be back sunday evening, 20 hours drive round trip.

Now the local forecast is saying snow Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The catch is it is all south of here and will (maybe) just hit the twin cities. Not much is forecast between here and the UP of MI.

Watta ya think, wait 2 more weeks, or throw a set of snows for the Miata (which I have) in the jeep and go for it.

Agreed, that part was intelligent. Unfortunately, you southern boys just can't imagine how wonderful the 3 weeks of summer are here

Back on topic, make the drive or not

Wait. You bring it back now, you expose it to all the salt and crap, and you can't really drive it until the weather gets a little better anyway.

You also risk hitting bad roads, and all the other idjits out there on them, too.

Boosted Miatas are just fine in the snow with snow tires, and very fun in empty parking lots. 10 hours of driving in the snow would be very tedious though.

I doubt a weekend in the snow would hurt it. Just give it a wash as soon as you can. I'd throw the snows on if it looks bad and bring it home.

As for the snow, I thought we were done. I took my car out and started to un pack my tool box. I heard the forecast....turned around and put it all back away. I hate it, when is spring coming?

If it's not inconveniencing Larry to hold it, I'd wait until the weather was perfect. Something about starting off right, instead of full of danger and stress is appealing.

My rational side says wait, but if it were actually me, I'd probably chance it if I've been waiting for it that long. But on a side note, if it were me, I'd make sure I had plenty of time so if I ran into unmanagable snow, I could just chill in a nice hotel with a bar for a few days until it clears.

pick it up. wash the undercarriage from salt.

Gives you time to look it over while you wait for the weather to get nice like its down here in Houston today.

Speaking off I think i'll go out for a jog

FWIW - I have been running outside all winter even when below zero. Did 8 miles yesterday and it was a perfect 40 degrees. Tell me about how great your running weather is in July I've run the Houston Marathon a couple of times. I've actually run several marathons in TX.

I bailed on picking up the car, we got 6 inches of snow last night and the weather conditions are terrible. I'll pick it up in two weeks. I am pulling the '01 out mid-week to start getting it ready to install the standalone ECU.

I definitely wouldn't want to go for a long drive today. We got a foot today so far, at least I got to ride the Duc yesterday while it was 40.
