With all the rain down here in Texas over the last 2 1/2 months I think we have gotten spoiled.

Today is a good reminder of what summer really is like

Feels Like
111°F :hs:
80 percent humidity.

I guess I will have to jog in the gym today. I hate treadmills :(

magnamx-5 08-11-2007 12:06 PM

Pitlab77 08-11-2007 01:45 PM

bripab007 08-11-2007 03:21 PM

hustler 08-11-2007 08:35 PM

so hot that I'm not doing a track day this month. 2 track days in July really ruined it. Hopefully it will be nice at Hallett in September.

Snowsurfer03 08-12-2007 01:12 AM

My friend in Iraq said it was 143 when he looked the other day. He said thats pretty normal. Here in A-stan it is well over 100 every day and no rain in over a month.

My buddy in Iraq was telling about it over there. My jaw hit the floor when he told me that but he said it isn't killer cause there tends to be some wind and its dry heat. That and he drinks water 24/7 now...lol

cjernigan 08-12-2007 07:13 PM

It got down to 40* last night, so says the Yukon's thermometer.

kotomile 08-12-2007 07:17 PM

Yep you have to drink water constantly here in Kuwait.

"dry heat"... lol. When you step outside and it feels like walking into a hairdryer there is no consolation in the the phrase "but it's a dry heat."

I'm going to Qatar for a few days, hopefully the sea will lower the temps to something bearable, but I doubt it. It'll probably just be more humid...

bripab007 08-13-2007 08:40 AM

Better than feeling like you're walking through a giant hot tub when you're outside.

I'm @ AbuDhabi, at the wonderful dhafra:td:

I went to Dubai the other week, it was nice, everyone over here is just so filthy rich, they can pay people to follow them around with air conditioners.

With all the flightline pavement over here, the ambient temp gets horrible, fortunetly I'm in an air conditioned office all day:bigtu:

Snowsurfer03 08-13-2007 09:16 PM

Enjoy your time in the UAE. I heard it is pretty nice. You get much "buisness" over there?

FWIW Im at Bagram :td::td: Hopefully I get UAE next time.

Not much for what I do here. Its nice here, but people like to make more rules than are needed. I had a much better deployment when i was stuck in kandahar Afghanistan. Atleast there, I was on an army base, and all the rules make sense. (People get so bored over here they came up with an amendment to base policy that says you have to salute officers at all times; even in pt gear. That and other various stupid rules.)

Going off base here is about the only thing keeping me sane. That and my Wife and BEGI kit waiting at home for me.

I give you guys full props for all that. Even if the war is pointless to me, I still give you props for been there away from your family. My buddy got married 4 months ago and is back oversea for this 2 or 3 time.

Koto when you get back into town, your going to have to tear up town in your yadda with all of us. :bigtu:

kotomile 08-14-2007 03:43 PM

A drive to "the A" is in the cards sometime after I return, if we can arrange some type of MT.net get together, since there are so many ATL area members, all the better! I'd like to have my car mostly put together by that time too.

I may not be on the board for the next week, depends what the internet situation is in Qatar.

Bryce 08-14-2007 03:50 PM

Speaking of the heat, its been several days since its rained here in houston now lol.

Non-working A/c is the suck even with the top down fans on and I now realize how much it sucks for those motorcycle riders that get stuck in traffic during the heat of the day.

Anybody a member of the sweaty back club?
