DD miatas?

How many of you Turbo Kids run your miata as a daily driver? and how much power are you guys putting down

SamS 04-30-2007 09:43 PM

Mine's my only car, and even 300 miles away from its garage most of the year. I'm only at 7psi for now, hoping to get megasquirt this summer and up the boost though.

i ran DD until my motor went then i switched to my nissan still on nissan for now damn oil leaks. :(

RusMan 04-30-2007 10:05 PM

Mine's my only car, was about 210rwhp until the motor went out. Hopefully will be more reliable with built engine.

Mines a DD, but I only get it on the rainy days...No clue on power, (that would require scheduling a dyno day and it fall on a rainy day...)

well, my miata is my toy / track car, but its more reliable than my daily vw. Its on a stock motor though.

I've been DD'ing my miata. My MB has been nothing but mechanical problems and I'm having issues with the state and my Montero--seems the DMV inputted the VIN incorrectly and it's been a PITA to get it fixed. I've gotten pulled over twice now, and the cops have told me that the plate is wrong and I'm unisured!!??. Then I show the cop my proof of insurance and registration paperwork, and they send me on my way. Haven't gotten a ticket, but don't want to press my luck either.

Mines my DD but I drive my wifes mazda3 on weekends to run around town.

Al Hounos 04-30-2007 10:47 PM

i DD mine, except I usually ride my motorcycle if it's nice. 220-230whp est.

Ditto Al Hounos. My Miata shares the DD chores with the Suzuki SV650. It's also gone on some long-distance road trips, such as San Diego <-> Phoenix twice. Haven't been to the dyno, but averaging about 13 PSI on Greddy-based system.

Now that most of the bugs have been sorted out, the car is just as reliable as it was pre-turbo, and probably a great deal more trouble-free than most other 15 year old cars on the road.

i dd mine as well only at 8 psi but its pretty quick with a 3in catless exhaust.
going to buy a 1.8 diff an push it to 14psi should be good.

that7guy 05-01-2007 12:30 AM

Mine started out as a project but was so much more fun then my dd so now I drive it constantly.

username182 05-03-2007 06:51 PM

When I get my miata (which will be soon hopefully), it will be strictly a weekend/track car.

My dd is my 05 srt4. :bigtu:

Greddy kit just recently got slapped on and I drive it 120+miles a day commuting to and from work and running errands. Funny thing is, I have a 96 DSM GS-T, and a 1992 Benz 190 2.3 just sitting there in the driveway. DSM runs good, but Benz needs a new rim and radiator hose.

Anyone wanna buy one of them? I need money for the MS-PNP!!!
