Deal or no deal? 96 for $1300..
I don't have picks so this is a little useless but trying to decide what to tell this guy. 1996 blue, 141K miles, base model, hit in front left, moved bumper in about 3 inches, fender messed, bumper isn't too bad just supports bent, newer hood is straight but all surface rust because it was never primered, left head light cover is slightly bent but useable, everything looks straight in the engine bay. Runs and drives quite well, tires are bald. Chrome style bar is excellent condition!:jerkit: Top is fine.
Thought about pounding it out, paint the whole thing (although the rest is pretty good), using the rear end housing, etc.. and swapping my vicous in, and beating on it for no good reason. Also, body kit (?) and mazdaspeed 17's (need tires) for $500 more. Yeah or nay? |
why would you swap the viscous from a 91 into a 96?
do you really want a body kit and 17's on a NA? |
Big no on the body kit, would be sold on ebay. I'm not 100% on the 17s, they would only be for cruising in the turbo 91. I would be swapping the 96 rear into the 91 and the 91 into the 96.
Yeah or nay? Oh, it also has a slightly cracked windshield and a cracked rear taillight, but it has newer kyb grs. |
If it is a base model it may not even have the Torsen.
|
It would be an easy decision with the torsen, but at least this would get me the axles, driveshaft, and housing.
|
it doesn't have a Torsen. base model = no torsen. unless PO swapped one in
|
yeah or nay? anyone?
|
1300$ = expensive parts car.
Not good for anything else, or you would have bought it already. |

1. FUCK TORSEN
2. give guy $850 cash for it. |
Buy it put a cheep front end on it and sell it to some chick for $3500
|
buy it
|
i bought a super ugly 95 with all options and a torsen for $1400...lol.
|
Decent deal, fix it up and sell it, take profit and buy your rear end swap of choice. No need to put a 96 out there with a 6" rear, that's just wrong.
You can profit at least $1000 on this deal, buy low, sell high. |

My (six year old) son ended up breaking his arm in two places as my wife was recovering from surgery. The car lost priority. I did buy a silver 88 vw cabriolet in incredible condition for $2K up here, for either resale or a summer car for the wife. Still want that diff, though, I am getting nervous about two upcoming consecutive track days without a seven inch one. http://www.wmhm.org/ |
