You flipped your IC around?

SamS 04-06-2008 11:17 PM

What's with the "baby teeth"/tow hooks? :giggle:

samnavy 04-06-2008 11:19 PM

^Baby teeth are all the rage with the dRRifttzz crowd.

Doppelgänger 04-06-2008 11:26 PM

No.... i left them there because if something actually happens, they'll be there for me to use ;) Not to mention i just dyno'ed the car.... damn glad i didn't take them off.

I've had to use a tow truck too many times in the past :(
At least im not getting poseur "race hooks"........

Yeah... what a PAIN in the ASS it was:vash:

Not only did I have to contend with the FM bracket, the PO made a few extra ones that made things rather interesting lol. Took me about 1hr to remove the stock bumper, flip IC, re-install IC, and put on the GV bumper.

elesjuan 04-06-2008 11:41 PM

Looks good! Thats one helluv an opening for that monster IC!

scfreshy 04-06-2008 11:44 PM

I want an NB
She's awfully sexy.

Ben 04-07-2008 07:53 AM

My proper name is Sir.
That does look approximately 2645464614 times better. But that's just an estimation.

Where's your dyno charts?

Doppelgänger 04-07-2008 08:41 AM

Yeah, i'll admit is looks much cleaner myself. I told you the next time i swapped my bumper i'd do it lol.

Well, the dyno didn't go so good. Jeremy sent me a new map. I requested that the boost cut be raised so i could run 12psi and activate the EBC. So before i went to the dyno, i loaded up the new map and hooked up the EBC and went for a test drive and only saw 6psi. So i went into the settings and saw the EBS was off and turned it on. No difference..still 6psi. So i quickly loaded up the original map and MBC. Well, when i took the MBC out, i kinda took it apart and lost the ball and didn't know it (don't ask). MBC+no ball == factory wastegate @ 6psi.....again lol. Fuck it, i'll fix it when i get to the dyno. Well, i get there and realize that the MBC is kinda missing the ball and borrow a MBC from Travis (the one who works with you), throw it in the car and drive it to set the boost. Thinking everything is now OK, i load the new map again and dyno. Got about half way through the run and hear a knock so i let off. Maps is shit. So i load the old map...again. Next run. Everything seems to be going well, but the MBC sucks... 10psi 12 psi, 13psi, 10 psi, back to 11psi. It's all over the place, unlike my Hallman which is ROCK SOLID. Ended up making 232rwhp/199rwtq. The dyno plot was broken up/missing segments and the guy there told me it was from poor ignition/spark plugs and recommended that i change them asap. Lesson - don't fuck with the car before the dyno lol. When I got home, i found the ball and put the MBC back together and the car feels way better...go figure. I'll be calling Balanced today to schedule some dyno tuning time since the guys at Dynolab had no clue to what a Hydra was.

Ben 04-07-2008 08:50 AM

You know, that's pretty much how Matt's MS installation went on Saturday too. I always change my plugs and oil before going to the dyno. And sometimes I go ahead and do it again afterwards too.

Did BPM get the eddy brake on their dynojet? Last time I was there (2 years ago?) they didn't have any load capability.

RotorNutFD3S 04-07-2008 10:47 PM

Haha! Someone else brought up the tow hooks. I was poking fun at him at the meet about them too.

By the way, you weren't serious when you flashed your hazards at me after our run from the light were you? :)

Doppelgänger 04-07-2008 11:32 PM

lol nah... just joshin with ya lol i need about another 60rwhp before i can do that. Too bad we really didn't get a good run in on the way home ( i hit boost cut on 400 :( )

RotorNutFD3S 04-07-2008 11:52 PM

:) I was pacing you from the light. I just wanted to hear the F&F Eclipse BOV. lol
I know. Too much traffic. But it's ok. My wastegate flapper got wedged on the divider inside my downpipe again, and I maxed out at 8-9 psi on that run. :(

Doppelgänger 04-08-2008 08:50 AM

So... how'd it sound? lol

RotorNutFD3S 04-08-2008 12:01 PM

Actually it sounds pretty damn good. I was trying to get a good video of your car at the same time, that however did not work out very well. I need an I/O roll bar mount.

'Cept without all of the red-hot ignitors :giggle:

Looks alot better now mang. I saw "MOVE" stenciled onto an intercooler once, thought it was kinda cool.

Oh and Ben, that funeral detail I'm on put me on the setup team, which does no funerals, so I just might have my weekends after all. Hopefully I can make the next meet!:eek5:

y8s 04-08-2008 07:36 PM

you could get

h A (To-Ti)

stenciled on it.

Doppelgänger 04-08-2008 08:26 PM

W T F ?

I was contemplating a big middle finger on the intercooler lol
