That is possibly the most comfortable kind of car to drive and sit in I have ever driven.

Why is it dead?????

rider384 04-13-2010 07:49 AM

It's ok, it's just a Prelude.

shuiend 04-13-2010 08:00 AM

Thats what you get for living in a straight up thug town called Arlington. It is telling you to go with something German made to fit in with all the other Joneses.

hustler 04-13-2010 08:07 AM

My whore XGF had one of those with a JUN motor.

Bryce 04-13-2010 08:11 AM

Poor car. I would definitely daily one.

turotufas 04-13-2010 09:34 AM

I like those. Nice bodies. I'd drop a JDMz H22 in there.

neogenesis2004 04-13-2010 09:36 AM

4th gen is mo betta!

What does "non-moving" constitute?

levnubhin 04-13-2010 10:06 AM

Blown transmission.

Jesus of Nazareth, a Jewish prophet who claimed to be the Christ prophesied in the Jewish Scriptures, was arrested, was judged a political criminal, and was crucified. Three days after His death and burial, some women who went to His tomb found the body gone. In subsequent weeks, His disciples claimed that God had raised Him from the dead and that He appeared to them various times before ascending into heaven. From that foundation, Christianity spread throughout the Roman Empire and has continued to exert great influence down through the centuries.

lol, brain. This is kind of like a fairy tale, even her expression fits in with the motif.

Braineack 04-14-2010 09:14 AM

still hard to believe this is a 13yo car with 140K:

http://www.boostedmiata.com/gallery2...2/DSC_0060.JPG

Note: this is my old one...new one is 5-sp

FRT_Fun 04-14-2010 09:18 AM

Who the previous owners were makes a pretty big difference obviously. But those Honda interiors do hold up like no other. I still remember my friends Pontiac 6000 when I was a kid which had just about every interior piece falling off.

Turbo_4 04-14-2010 11:58 AM

How much did you grab it for?

turotufas 04-14-2010 12:04 PM

Real niggas don't fux with automatics. Respek on the 5 speed.

That transmission had sucked balls from day one. I've been wanting the SH for a long time, but this works.

That's how I feel everytime I get into my '90. The cap fell off of the A/C button (the A/C still works) and that's really about the only thing about the interior (short of the sand-blasted windshield from 20 years in the desert) that tells you it isn't a new car.

^strange pic.

Anyway, there is nothing better than a new windshield in whatever car you are driving. I got one in a 3 y.o. Ford Ranger after 60k, and I got one in my '90 turbo after 250k. Each time, it was love at first sight. May as well be a new car!

turotufas 04-14-2010 01:08 PM

I've been told that a new shift boot makes the car feel brand new.

I'll never know. I hate shift boots! Not really, I just threw mine away on accident and never got a new one.

funny...

she already complained on the drive home that she wants a new windshield and wants to know how I can purposely crack it so we can get a free replacement through insurance...

we drove the prelude and then an rsx back to back. we both noted how the preludes shift boot looked new, while the 2005 rsx had one that was torn and looked worn...we easily took that rsx out of the running...it did have a very clean engine bay though.

It is relevant to the revised thread title.

If I ever do wind up painting the car, I'll be removing the glass at that time, and will probably have new glass put in. Just don't want to do it before then, as I'll have to do through the whole ordeal again. I don't even know what it costs to have a windshield replaced. Seems like it'd be an expensive piece of glass.

And no, I'm not going to crack it so that I get a free one out of the insurance co. There are limits to how low I'm willing to stoop.

Full_Tilt_Boogie 04-14-2010 02:19 PM

H22 FTW

too bad it weighs a million lbs

In this area it's $125-175 to pay to get it replaced.

it seems this 5 speeds makes 5 more HP and weighs almost 100 lbs. less, so it's pretty much the fastest car out there.

Early 98's have an aluminum block and are coveted by hardparking hondafags. Teh one my GF had was crazy fast. It had a JUN motor and was faster than a WS6 in a dragrace and on the highway. I was very impressed with that car.

My best friend had a 99 SH that he bought when it was 2 months old after being traded in for hail damage. He blew the transmission after about 4 years of not-so-gentle driving, and had to order a replacement from Honda.....Japan. It took almost 3 months to arrive. Not a fun period for him, though I still tease him about getting his transmission "over-seasoned" from Japan. (Bad TF&TF reference).

It was a fun car to drive, but it sucked balls to ride in the back seat.

Full_Tilt_Boogie 04-14-2010 02:53 PM

I know a local guy who has a built H22 swapped into a EJ civic with a 35R

when its running its pretty ridiculous

I find it suspicious when a used car has a really clean engine bay. :squint: I'd prefer the lack of leaking fluids to be accompanied by about a year's worth of authentically accumulated dirt so I know it's legit.

What did you end up doing with the old one? Is it for sale?

FWIW, I sold my gf's 2001 with 144k miles for $3k on ebay. Sold as is for parts or repair.

She crashed it and fucked up the front end pretty bad. I was going to keep it and fix it for a DD for myself, but it was more work than it was worth.

She wants another one bad. She hates her Mazda 6 and tells me all the time the prelude was soo much better.

Braineack 04-14-2010 04:01 PM

Going to swap out a few minor parts and then sell it online, looks like I wouldn't be crazy to try to get 1.5-2K for it as is.
