Default The death of us

I can't believe that the following combination of English words actually mean something:

"Honey Boo Boo's Uncle Poodle is a gay redneck"

And yet that was the jist of several headlines yesterday.

Don't get me wrong, I support homosexuals and their fight to convince the world that it's not a "choice." I'm also glad he is proud of his sexuality and was able to come out, which is something we should all be accepting of. What I have a problem with is the strange mix of popular culture and degradation of our language that it took to make this news and present it as such, and yet have it actually mean something to so many people (it took me a while to figure out what it meant).

While some might argue that this is akin to an article stating:

"Take a bite out of Ice Cream Sandwich or wait for the Jelly Bean?"

I beg to differ. Not just because I'm a tech nerd, but because those are valid names for operating systems, and the author goes on to list pros and cons of each option.

The fact that more than half our country can digest just a headline about people using strange pseudonyms and have it mean something just screams "Idiocracy" more than ever before. We really are turning into a bunch of idiots.

I have two things to say:

1. Chocolate pudding is dramatic irony.
2. Nicolas Cage is a two-cycle engine.

Nothing new here. I think we've had at least 20 "we're slowly becoming that movie" threads by now. Its sad, really, but what are you going to do about it?

The only people outraged by this are us, which is a bunch of nerds that own gay cars and circle jerk on some site. We are the 1%. And even this site is becoming slowly infested with the new generation rtards with their sideways hats and "stanced" cars.

Yeah, we're fucked. I blame the acceptance of promoting such trash on the crappy talk shows of the 90's...that's where it all started.

Mass media = lowest common denominator. I'm sure Edison decried the youth in his day.

I think that's my real problem...just where the LCD is...

Imagine just where we'd be if it weren't for the "trickle down" effect of math and science from top tier minds.

I fear however that the fruits of technological advancement that are enjoyed by the LCDs will soon overcome their willingness to advance their own selves likewise, as they become consumed with the cheap entertainment conveyed with this technology. Think about how many kids probably spend 50% of class time looking at a 4" hand-held display instead of the board.

It will catch up with us.

Whats WAY more shocking is that those are actually like the best of the worst. On a scale of 1-10 of all the retarded shows out there right now those two are like a 4-5.

My wife showed me some show with tyra banks as the host, I was literally depressed the whole day and lost any ounce of hope I had in humanity.

And don't even get me started on **** like "jersey shore" or "keeping up with the fat ******". I literally couldn't watch more than about 2 minutes of it.

Where are all the stupid people from?
And how'd they get to be so dumb?
Bred on purple mountain range
Feed amber waves of grains
To lesser human beings, zero feelings

Blame it on
Human nature, mans destiny
Blame it on the greediocracy
Fear of god
The fear of change
The fear of truth

Add the bill of rights, subtract the wrongs
There's no answers
Memorize and sing star spangled songs
When the questions
Aren't ever asked
Is anybody learning from the past?
We're living in united stagnation

The television's put a thought inside your head
Like a barry manilow, jingle
I'd like, to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
A symphonic blank stare, yeah
It doesn't make you care
Not designed to make you care
They're betting you won't care

Place a wager on your greed
A wager on your pride
Why try to beat them when, a million others tried?

We are the *****
Intellectually spayed
We are the queer
Dysfunctionally raised

One more pill to kill the pain
One more pill to kill the pain
One more pill to kill the pain
Living through conformity

Lost the battle, lost the war
Lost the things worth living for
Lost the will to win the fight
One more pill to kill the pain

Save us

The human, existence
Is failing, resistance
Essential, the future
Written off, the odds are
Astronomically against us
Only moron and genius
Would fight a losing battle
Against the super ego
When giving in is so damn comforting

And so we go, on with our lives
We know the truth, but prefer lies
Lies are simple, simple is bliss
Why go against tradition when we can
Admit defeat, live in decline
Be the victim of our own design
The status quo, built on suspect
Why would anyone stick out their neck?

Fellow members
Club "we've got ours"
I'd like to introduce you to our host
He's got his, and I've got mine
Meet the decline

We are worker
We love our queen
We sacrifice
We're soilent green

We are the queer
We are the *****
Ammunition
In the class war

It's true. He was a thug; read up on him a little and his Edison trust. He wasn't an inventor; he was a thief and good at patents and thug violence.

He bankrupted other inventors, and bought out their debt by making them work for him so they couldn't go on inventing better things.

He would hire thugs to break cameras/film of anyone using things other than his products.

He's was a successful business man. If he were alive today, he'd be a villan... but not because of his actions, but becuase he's white and rich and probably would have a low tax rate.

One could also say we are slowly heading the way Orwells 1984. But again, what are we going to do about it? Other than not participating. Don't watch the bullshit on TV, or listen to the media make a huge deal out of some **** that doesn't matter. Don't buy the new IPAD 7 OMG, etc.

In the end though we're all still consumers, I spend all my expendable money on cars, motorcycles, snowboards, and bicycles. I guess that makes me a hypocrite

Nothing, because shockingly, the people who support and enact the stuff that lead towards 1984, are the same who cry about how we are becoming like it.

Are you high?

That is clearly a 77-89 Porsche 911 Turbo.

Identical right down to the black stripe at the bottom which flares up at the rear wheel arch. Wheels are also a match (imagine them in silver on the car.)

No, it's clearly a 1975ish Porsche 930. With the ugly bumpers.
