My 05 OBXT had one, and it's a bit of a pain. Not really awful, but you do have to take way more apart than you should have to for air filter replacement. Follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

borla hush or maddad whisper both are awesome
actually greddy evo2 would be nice too
I had the TXS stealthback as my last setup on the forester, with a Prodrive axle back. it was perfection
actually the invidia g200 was quiet on a wagon I tuned too
...........basically there's like 2 million options for you

lolz
I got this car with one of them parrot bluetooth deals. I liked it until after about a month it developed an intermittent power issue. I suspected it was installed by a best buy or whatever fucktard and they uses a scotchlock vampire tap. A few month later it would hardly ever come on.
I didnt intend to do any of this, but getting to the air filter I caught a glimpse of fuckery. I hate fuckery, and I especially hate in-dash fuckery, its a pet peeve. I just couldnt help myself.
found a buchered isolation transformer with 3 sex changes on the RCA connectors. Why one would ever need an isolation trans in a modern car is beyond me, is there something i dont know about subis? I dont even know what circuit it was in, i just ripped it out as fast as i could.
from what i could tell on the net, the cut wires are a turn on circuit, I thought these things were passive? whatever
ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr
aaarrrhgggggggggg
I seriosuly ******* hate hackd *** work like this. PO actually paid for this
random 5v power supply....
mystery board
If i cant get this working with minimal effort, its coming out.
can i tear this thing out to? XM reciever. I dont intend to ever have XM. Anyone need it?

I passed up at least 2-3 WRXs before I bought mine because when I popped my head up under the dash I saw wiring fuckery like this.
My Miata still has some crap like this that I have not gotten around to fixing, its been a winter project for probably, uh, 4-5 years now.

The older these things get the more kids bring them over to me with this type of junk under the dash
Any time I see something like this, I have the "wiring" discussion with them which basically consists of "if your spider web of junk underneath causes my reading/writing of the ecu to be interrupted in anyway, it's not my fault".
I've refused to touch a few cars by now. They were that bad.
But I'm a giant weenie who likes his cars soft, quiet, and comfy

In other news, to complement my old man syndrome and make the car as comfy and as quiet as possible, I have bought things.
first, comfy:
Racecomp Engineering : RaceComp Engineering Tarmac Zero Coilover for 08-14 WRX - Shocks / Coilovers - Suspension - 08-14 Impreza WRX - Subaru
These things are supposed to be the newest beez-kneez in daily driver comfort while retaining good performance. My current suspension is 99% awesome, but I'm looking for that last 1%
Spoke with Racecomp Engineering, and they're saying these have even more travel and better matched damping than my current Koni/RCE, which is supposed to be one of the best for daily driving + weekend performance.
Second, quiet:
Exhaust Control Valve, Flange-Type (80mm.)
Really excited to install both
