My mistake, yup ford are doing much better than the other fuckups, plus they have the money(barely) and brains to refine their fleet for the changing marketplace and consumer needs instead of trying to shape the marketplace like GM and Chrysler have done for so many years.

Yep, they built SUVs and gas guzzlers when American wanted small fuel efficient cars, right? Bullshit, they built what was selling...excess! Americans didn't want small efficient cars until last year when gas went up to $4. The prius went on sale in the U.S. in 2001 and didn't sell for shit. The honda insight was before that in the late 90's, nobody bought them.

The auto situation here is starting to get pretty bad. The workers who lost their jobs hand out these "Buy American only!" flyers. Near my school there is a small parts plant that shut down. Foreign cars in the area have had slashed tires, broken mirrors and big dents. These people drive me nuts.

I see where you're coming from and agree in part, but are you saying that the billions of dollars that GM puts into marketing had nothing to do with what the American consumer went out and bought? Its a hard comparison to make, I absolutely HATE the prius, but when it came out how many glorifying commercials did you see for it? Now think about the H2.

BTW I really hope I don't come off as a hippie dippie hybrid nutter, because I think Hybrids are some of the worst vehicles on sale atm, and would never be caught dead in one.
