Daily Driver Opinions
I am looking to pick up a cheap economic daily driver. I currently drive my Nissan Titan to and from work everyday and the 12-14 mpg is kicking my ***.
I want something that gets 25+mpg that I fit in and is somewhat sporty and fun.
My price limit is $3k.
I would be willing to pick up another stockish Miata, but they are bringing big $$$ now-a-days.
So far I am looking at, but not limited to these options:
94+ Toyota Celica GT
94+ Acura Integra
94+ Honda Accord EX
Acura CL 2.2 or 2.3
1994 must be a magic year?
What would you buy?

Old accord, non VTEC, any trim but DX, with liability only (maybe comp if it's cheap).
Side bonus is you won't be depreciating your Titan by adding miles to it, while the Accord is already fully depreciated.

I had a 94 Accord EX auto - it was pretty good - OK handling, mileage about 25 in town and about 30 on the highway going 80-ish. Got it to 135K miles before it got squashed by a dump truck, never had a problem. However, having to adjust the valves(solid lifters) every 7500 miles kind of bit.

I have a '95 Pontiac SunRunner (Geo Tracker to you U.S. people)that I use as my winter car / take the dog to the park car, which does not seem to be what you are looking for.
For the replacement, in a few years, I am looking at the following Suzuki Aveio, Mazda P5 or a Pontiac Vibe (Toyota Matrix) The Vibes are not overpriced and are not bad to drive.

My DD is a '97 Subaru Outback Sport, basically the impreza wagon with taller suspension. Gets mid 20's mpg with me beating on it, takes abuse, AWD, fits most crap, handles surprisingly well, torquey engine, boxer rumble, etc. I love it, especially with the GT2560 from the miata
