Do any of you guys board?
:bigtu: Im building a skateboard while on my downtime with some trucks, wheels, bushings, excedra..., I have a lovly habitat board that My wify bought me not too long ago(love it) lucky abec 7 bearings, venture trucks, and doh-oh bushings, I had a bad bearing in one wheel that went out and brought the board to a sudden stop lol just my luck I was'nt wearing knee pads(bye bye knee) oh well moving on.
Here's the set-up on my new board in progress: grind king trucks, doh oh bushings, and china reds wheel bearings. http://i15.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/97/26/f042_1_b.JPG has anyone used these, I've heard alot of good things:bigtu: |
I tell ya what....... I can't even stand up on a skate board while it's moving.....
|
Several years ago when I skated I used the reds. I thought they were good at the time. I have been out of boarding for 4+ years so I dont know what all has changed.
|
i skate boarded for abotu a month lol not my thing i ride bmx;):bigtu:
|
i'm getting into skateboarding soon, as snowboarding season is ending
i heard good things on the bone's red bearings, planning on picking these up too, they're supposed to be "higher end quality" china bearings not sure how the grind kings are, but i'm going to pick up thunders |
I skated from 1975-1992 on and off. I suppose I could extend that if I found my last board, it's around here somewhere.
|
I skated from age 13-20. I worked at a skatepark, so it was great.
|
Still SNOWBOARD season up here. :)

i was a poseur in 7th grade. but it was my mode of transportation. what's freaky is that 15 years later I was walking around near my work and ran across an old skate hangout I hadn't been to since then. It's this weird overpass with a parking lot underneath and at the end where the overpass meats the lot there's a weird smooth transition like a wave shape. we used to call it "the wave" naturally. Turns out a buddy of mine works in a building right next to it. Talk about crazy nostalgia.

I used to skate about 4 years ago and my china bones still work fine in my old board. I skate about 10minutes every 6 months!
SNOWBOARDING & BMX FTMFW!!! :bigtu: |
i ride.well more like i use to ride bmx.gonna build a new bike.
oh m2cupracer thats sweet how long you skated. |
I was a pussy. I skated for 2 years and sucked the entire time. Got sick up busting up my shins and ankles trying to do different flips and whatnot. Decided wake boarding during the summer and snowboarding during the winter were better for me. It's nice when the board stays on your feet when you jump.

Isn't that how you broke your Leg or Ankle?????????????? |
I don't board,but I do ride BMX.
Does that count? |
reds are good. Once you break them in they are really nice.

I haven't skated in a while...I miss it...my favorite board.
Element Earth Featherlite Grind king trucks Speed Demon bearings Spitfire wheels Not sure what risers? GK maybe? Shitty grip tape. That board was the shit. |
I stopped skating when I got my license and a job. I still go out occasionally but nothing much.
I had the bones reds a while back and they were pretty good. I had some lucky 7s on my next board and I couldn't really tell the difference. except, on flat smooth surfaces going slow, the luckys felt smoother. my all-time favorite board would have to be the one I have now. I'm running 52mm Autobahns with lucky abec 5s. it's slammed too, which makes me laugh every time I see it. I'm on venture lows, but I had to change out the bushings because they were too soft for me, so I switched them with the bushings on some old thunders I have, which for some reason aren't as big, and altogether it sits about a centimeter and a half lower, and the kingpin rubs on the deck underneath the truck. I don't ever get name brand decks because they aren't worth shelling out 2x as much for the exact same product, and I like to support the shops by my house. most of the time I got my decks on a heavy discount because the owners knew me and I knew a couple kids sponsored by them. so I always roll with Utility or K5 decks. goddamn, I remember when the first Utility went in by my house.... that building's a La Salsa now and they moved like 3 blocks away. brings back memories.. |
