People of all races and colors say shit like that all of the time. I really don't think it was meant in a hurtful way.
But, also being in the Public broadcasting network you have to refrain from remarks such as this.
I can go up to some of my fellow "black" employees and say "what's up, you Nappy headed Hoe?", and they will laugh at the remark!

I think he wants to move to serius anyway he has been phonining it in for a while now anyway. He will either try to retire or move to pay radio and make some more money for a few years like howard. Lots of people tend to forget that controversy is not new to him he used to crack on people all the time back in the day. But i digress who cares, are they in school to play Basketball, get an education or be pretty. Is it realy gonna make them that less of a person being called nappy headed, or hoes. This is reverse discrimination at work once agian if say all sharpton would have called an all white team a lanky knobby knee'd bunch of crackers/Polocks/spicks etc, would we even be discussing this?

It's only because he affended Black-Americans....horribly offend/disrepect the entire female population on a day-to-day basis, like howard stern, and get paid.

Its a grand incident of the race card, idiocy, and essentially a handful of blacks with political power abusing and threatening the right to free speech for white people...because this is about white people who can't comment on someone who has different physical traits consistent with racials normals. However, we can't talk about racial norms anymore. This is an extension of Michael Irvin being chastised for stating the obvious that black people are better at sports.

Until that fucking son of a bitch Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson start crucifying every black DJ in America for calling each other "nigga," they will be more guilty of racism than Imus for choosing who they chastise...based upon race.

BTW, where is Jesse Jackson's apology to the Duke lacrosse students for inciting a mob over his coined "sexual assault dancer?"

Anybody familiar with the University of Nothern Colorado? Largley Indian school. Scratch that- largely Native American school. (Hell, I was born here. I'm a Native American too.) Few years ago they changed the mascot for their athletic teams. Became the Fightin' Whiteys. Funny as hell if you ask me. Apparently proceeds from the sale of Fightin' Whitey merchandise funded many a scholarship.

i'm not gonna say if he should be fired or not, but I don't feel sorry for him. what he said was pretty damn mean and completely uncalled for.

I love working with Indians, which I do 75% of the time. I've seen a cultural propensity to listen and actually think before you speak. All the fucks I work with or around seem to take this as a lack of intelligence, and always bites them in the ass. I wish I could go into the shit a certain state is putting them through, thinking it will trick them...and its about to come back around.

A. Imus is not a shock jock... Shock Jock = Howard Stern.
B. Imus is an Ass, I won't miss him.
C. It wasn't what he said, it was political correctness out of hand, now pass me the nappy ass ho'.

Words are just that, words. It's not like he made these "slurs" up, they came straight out of the black community. Now was he guilty of using Ebonics without a license... Most certainly!

comeon mark imus has been ruffling feathers for years just becouse he doesnt light his own farts on radio or cuase his listeners to orgasm on radio. Doesnt mean he wasn't very contriversial. Like i said before he is either tired and wants out of radio or he thinks pay radio will be a better enviroment for him to make even more money.

Don Imus was the *original* shock jock. When Stern came along he elevated the form to a new level, but Imus has been pushing the limits since the 60's, long before Howard ascended to grace.
