Don't Know What You Got Till It's Gone

I haven't played a game on my XBox1 for several years. I don't play many games at all but when I do I play them on the 360. For some reason I decided to build another XBox1 a couple of weeks ago and got it finished this weekend (had to wait a while for the mod chip to get delivered). Tonight I got all psyched up to play Ghost Recon (the original) and found that I no longer had the game. I've got 57 DVD-Rs full of games (around 300 games) but I never backed up my favorites. I only used the DVDs to backup the games that I seldom played to get them off my HDs. It is going to be next to impossible to get all my favorite games back. I guess I'm going to spend the next couple of months browsing ebay and pawnshops. I am disappoint...

why use a mod chip instead of soft modding?
Also I think I have ghost recon, will check tomorrow

#1 - I've chipped maybe 8 XBoxes and it is the only thing I know. I'm not exactly sure what all a soft mod will do for you.

#2 - Part of the fun of building the thing is getting out the soldering iron and taking everything apart.

+1 on the softmod. You get all the same features without ever having to open up the box. Google it, all you need is one of the three different games that work for it, a memory card, and some spare time.

I have a modded xbox that I use solely for digital media, its pretty awesome.

With the mod chip I have a 500 GB drive inside the box full of games. How do I do that without opening the box?

I only softmodded because I never had money for chips, I was able to repair xboxes that the hdd failed with just extracting the info out them using some reader I made to find the hdd password\info and than make another xbox install on a bigger hdd and stick it in.

FWIW, I paid $27 shipped for two chips.

Heh, well you dont have to install a new HDD.

I have a 1tb in mine though.
