I just pulled the trigger on the nikon a few minutes ago.
if I dont like it, I'm sure scott will upgrade to it as a favor to me. :) nah, I appreciate the "small steps" but i think it's pretty close in terms of minimum level of features that I wanted without getting overly complicated like a D90 or something. I probably would have gone with a D3000 except it was reviewed as "klunky" and has no live view. but enough about the cameras.... i've gotta learn about taking PHOTOS. |

I don't have a pic of the above 4 cameras, I'm still a novice but Meg and I run Canon's. She had a film Nikon and we didn't like it at all. I have a rebel XTi and she rolls the 5D and I think the canon's are great, it's fun to swap lenses too if need be. There is a lot of merit to the high-dollar EF-L lenses imho, but again I'm just a novice and took this with the standard $50 50mm prime lens & flash while the dog was jumping around. Most of the pics on my site were taken with her 5D/24-105 f/4L lens w/o flash and low light.

It's like I want to jump out of my chair and watch her jump back. Love it when they do that whole "oh so you think you can catch me?" deal lol |

Nikon D80 and 18-200VR is all you need. Then you add a 11-16mm because you're a wide angle junkie and you're like me.
