Dude Im so happy I moved
So recently I relocated to San Marcos, TX for a position at Texas State University. I am not gonna lie the car seen here consist of circle track racers and drag dudes most of which running chevy, mopar, and fords. I was somewhat depressed about this until I found out today that BEGi is located 45 min away from me. I really happy about this because I currently have an ok base MS tune but now I finally have a tuner shop near me that specializes in MS and can tune my car properly. Im super stoked about this.

Or, you could man up and learn to tune yourself ;).
Kidding aside, San Marcos is pretty neat. Much better than Austin and less traffic, but still close. |

who at begi is a MS expert? I'm just curious
I thought they usually recommend the Xede |
Well, to a very large extent, you either understand the fundamental concepts of tuning of you don't. One specific ECU vs. another is not so material.
|
this is very true.
but IMO to dial in a flawless running car in all temperature, weather, etc (basically OEM-like) the devil is in the details. Which is usually very different between different ecu's, unlike the fuel/timing maps. Or maybe the process is still the same, but having different trims/adjustments/tables labeled and set up differently makes things interesting. Making power is the easy part. (at least that's how I feel with this MS3x) |

You have failed to mention all the nice roads to use you tuned Miata on.
The many rivers that run through the area. Frisbee Dave. |

I was just going by the info on their website. Don't know the exact person that tunes ms all I know is I had a hell of a time finding a decent shop in Dallas that could give me a dyno tune using ms. Closest I could get was Gary at TD to do a street tune. Everyone else either used AEM or some other expensive ecu and wanted to charge me an arm in a leg.
The roads out here are a blast. So are the roads by Lake Austin out by Lakeway. |
Boost logic might know a thing or two about tuning as well.

Couldn't find anything on their site about MS tuning so I am going to go ahead and make the assumption that they do not tune MS. Their services look very similar to a lot of the tuner shops in Dallas and most of them wanted me to sell my first born for a ECU and my left testicle for a dyno tune. |
I'd suggest calling and talking to the shops instead of going off something you don't see on a website and assumptions.

More than one dude at Boost Logic tracks a turbo Miata, there were like 4 of them last time I was at HHR with them. You never contacted me about a tune when you were in Dallas.

Oh and today I met up with Pam from BEGi and she told me that Stephanie is doing the MS tunes and she usually does a street tune first to save people money than takes it to the dyno to further tune. Seems legit to me. I must say they are all very friendly people.
