I got outbid on eBay for a Torsen LOCAL TO ME by them. Salvage my ass.

akaryrye 09-07-2007 01:24 AM

they sent me a double order on a $150 order a year and a half ago, I got the same package twice lol :) Order included a cupholder that is still sitting next to my computer, an ignition switch (both in use now), shifter boots, and ngk plug wires :) It was awesome!

btw, in case yall were wondering, I was a miata newb at the time and just went to miata.net and thats why the typical m.net purchase, useful crap though.

kotomile 09-07-2007 01:26 AM

When I wanted a rear finish panel they quoted 280ish used. Screw that noise.

spike 09-07-2007 01:34 AM

Firedog, post this on m.net and let's see what kind of response you will get.

akaryrye 09-07-2007 01:42 AM

you know it will get deleted, so why bother? fuckin nazis

kung fu jesus 09-07-2007 01:44 AM

i ordered a rear bumper cover, told me it was in great condition, mariner blue.

when i got it, it was in worse condition than the one on the car. had deep gouges in it.

"we don't guarantee the condition".

fuckin' nice.

If one person reads it before it gets deleted, then it's well worth it.

firedog25 09-07-2007 03:06 AM

That would probably be followed with a ban too, I still use M.net to get int contact with some peopel. :( I'm still fucking pissed though because I could've driven up there and gotten it or had my pa-in-law get it for me.

spike 09-07-2007 11:21 AM

I don't see why you would get banned.I see people complaining about vendors all the time.I think the trick to it is not bash the vendor, but instead just post your negative experience with them.

Loki047 09-07-2007 11:42 AM

Offer them a few extra bucks to have it shipped straight to you.

TheShocker 09-07-2007 01:02 PM

I think they quoted me about $1200 for a used hardtop, plus several hundred in shipping. Isn't that about the same or more than a new one?

Loki047 09-07-2007 01:03 PM

i think new are closer to 1500plus shipping and paint

firedog25 09-07-2007 02:22 PM

Planet Miata is overpriced on their shit period. I guarantee they're going to take that fucking diff and try to sell it at twice the price or more than they got it for. I should've just kept upbidding so they paid more.

Fuck them for trying to make a profit! Imagine a business buying product and then marking it up and selling it. What the hell?!? You'd think this is a free market or something.

I'm pretty sure if you could get one they are about $4K from a dealer. And you have to paint it.

Loki047 09-07-2007 03:25 PM

the news for the NC arent even 4k

I was just pissed because I could've had that goddamn thing today. They're a "Salvage Yard", so I guess eBay is the new broken car.

Ben 09-07-2007 06:12 PM

Hardtop was a $2000 dealer option. But no longer in production.
It was a $1500 factory option if ordered with the car.

Ben 09-07-2007 06:16 PM

I've had only 1 transaction with Planet Miata, and it went well. Got a complete 1.8 brake kit (new rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and caliper brackets) for $190 shipped.

Savington 09-07-2007 11:54 PM

Pretty sure that the hardtops were around $2300 unpainted when they were available at all.

I'm gonna hang onto mine. :D
