Default Road rage thread!!

Not sure if we already had one, but we need a place to share some of our glorious bursts of rage after they happen.

Just now this bitch was behind me in traffic following WAY too close. I'm talking 1-2' close. There was traffic, but still moving at a steady pace. No reason for me to tailgate the guy in front of me and no reason for this bitch to be tailgating me either.

A few times I pointed at her in the mirror saying things like "stupid bitch" or "I'm going to slam on the brakes if you don't back the ---- off", but she was so clueless she had no idea I was pissed. Finally after a couple close calls of her nearly rear ending me as it was, I had enough and I ------- planted my foot onto the brake pedal and hit the gas making sure she didnt hit me. I watched in the mirror as I did it so I saw everything in her back seat come flying into the front. I lol'd. She put her hands up like "why did that guy just do that", still clueless that she was following TOO CLOSE!!

She kept her distance after that, but it was still too close. So as I put my blinker on to turn left onto my road I waved for her to come along side of me and when she did I gave her a good "suck a dick" motion to her face.

I don't care WHAT the reason, you don't follow someone that close in traffic. Especially if everyone is going the speed limit and there's a line of cars. I hate to get so mad at people some times, but some people are just STUPID AS ----.

Had one last year that made me loose my mind for a second. We were cruising around 70 and I had one car length in front of me. This lady cuts into what was not meant to be a spot for her as this isn't nascar. I let off the gas and start to brake to make more space and she looks up and brake checks me for following to close. For a flash of a second the thought of gas versus brake came across my mind and spinning her out. She knew I was livid after that and freaked out when I happened to be getting off on the same exit. It's the closest I have ever came to wanting to punch a woman. But, when it comes to attempted vehicular manslaughter, i think I can wave my gentleman card for a ----- that needs slapping.

When I saw the title of this thread and who started it, I was fully expecting to read a story of how Vash broke all the metacarpals in his hand punching his windshield.

When I'm driving I'm always right, even if I'm not. Also I hate people on bikes who are on the road riding too slow for traffic.

TAKE NO PRISONERS, TAKE NO ----.

The one that drives me nuts the most is when I am driving with a trailer and the people see the gap between me and the car in front of me as a space for them. The other day someone did this to me and then slammed on the brakes to turn and I almost took their *** out.

I drive about 70,000 miles a year(~30,000 with a trailer) and I have learned that for everyone that drives like a dick around me, there are 10,000 others. I stopped letting it get to me and just drive more defensively and have been much happier. Believe me though, I used to get some redass road rage.

My favorite thing to do though is still the "trailer shake". If you are pulling a trailer with a large enough truck and you have your blinker on by no one will let you over, you just start lightly going back and forth in your lane. With a long trailer this can make you seem like you are loosing control with the back swinging around. Everyone clears out and you get to change lanes.

I drive a miata, even if I do road rage at someone they surely will not take it seriously. I do love me some no lights brake check though, downshift suddenly while applying a dab of handbrake, it really throws people off.

Another nice thing about owning a convertible, if you need to flip someone the bird you can do so with FULL EXTENSION in any direction when the top is down, thats fun too.

I get more pissed off at dudes, but women are def WORSE drivers. I want to rip their heads off, but most of the time they're so oblivious. That's why I normally just result to a ---- in mouth motion.

We need a ---- in mouth smiley.

Thanks lol

Believe it or not I have in fact punched a windshield once when I was driving back from the job, lost and the 2 brazilians I was with were playing stupid on how to get back to the shop. It was my bro's truck and I cracked the windshield. I told him one of the guys dropped a 2x4 on it, but years later he found out. lol

My gf says that's how I act. That I'm a hypocrite and do the same ---- I hate people doing to me. I try and explain that the circumstances are different, but she insists its the same.

I'd say I feel MOST comfortable when I'm in the work trucks. Mainly because they're slow, heavy, old and already beat to ----. So if someone bumps me its not going to cause any damage to the truck, that's for sure. When we have the trailers hooked up people do tend to try and get in front of us, even though that's usually as far as they get.

Scary police state pseudo road rage story: A friend in Denver was driving one day and recounting a heated discussion he had with his ex wife, chances are he was gesturing with his hands as he talks like an Italian. He was on his phone hands-free. A cop pulled him over for road raging based on the conversation. LOL wut? That's right, some of the cops there can monitor cellphone calls within a 50' radius of their cruiser. Cost my pal over $1400 and a 1 year license suspension before the judge finally threw out the charges because they were ludicrous. He (the judge) even had a transcript of my friend's phone conversation, which ultimately proved that it was a phone conversation, not him yelling at another driver. No chance to get the cash back, either.

I ride my bicycle to work frequently, and one day had a drunk chick throw a fountain drink at me out the passenger window as she cruised by, yelling "get a car". LOL good times. Streets downtown here are wide enough to go 3 cars abreast in each lane and I was about 3' from the curb at the time. I guess everyone needs a hobby.

Sometimes I think I might be a hypocrite, sometime I think I get mad at people who do the same thing I do... Then I realize there's a difference.

When I drive, I always take others into consideration - my personal ideal is "never **** someone off".

And it works quite well, until someone else does something which pisses ME off.

Was driving through north chicagoland one day in heavy traffic, and there was a traffic jockey in a red silverado. He wasn't your ordinary casual jockey - he was a "if your lane has gained half a car-length on my lane, and there's enough space in your lane to parallel park, I'm occupying it" type.

The first time he did it, he had just merged onto the parkway, and proceeded to cut all the way across to the left hand lane to just in front of a pickup truck in front of me. The pickup in front of me had to slam his brakes, and I immediately cut out into the relatively empty right lane, gunned it, and merged back into the left lane a couple cars ahead of the silverado. At this point, I'm over it.

The second time, I was again behind another pickup, and my left lane was barely making headway over his right lane - maybe half a car length in 30 seconds. I was staying tight to the truck in front of me to prevent someone from cutting over, and I don't know how the ---- he managed to get in without tearing my bumper off, but he did - parallel parked that bitch at 55 mph. There's not much I can do in the heavy traffic so I just follow him for awhile until he jockeys back over into the right lane. He doesn't make it very far in the right lane before it's moving slower again. I put about a motorcycle length between me and the truck ahead of me, and silverado doesn't try any ---- this time. As soon as I pass him, there's about a parking spot between me and the car behind me, so he nearly tears my rear bumper off. At this point I'm pretty pissed off.

At some point, we broke into some traffic, or out of a traffic light or something, and there was open road in front of me. I more or less paced another pickup truck at about 55 until that driver decided to slow up and let the silverado in front of him. The silverado floored it once he got into open road, got up to about the back of my door before I dropped it into third and dropped the loud pedal to the floor. At about 110, he's probably 8-10 lengths back and we're coming up on an M3 in the right lane - he's still in the right lane. As I come up to the M3, I switch pedals and quickly brake to match his speed. The Silverado driver takes a moment to realize what just happened, and in the middle of a lane change to follow me in the left lane, he locks up the front tires - white smoke erawhere. After I pass the M3, he takes a moment to pull up on my quarter and yell at me through the unzipped rear window - you can just hear the nervous rage in his voice. Again, as with the first time I was "done", I was "done" again. I let dude go on his merry way, and he seemed quite content to tip toe past me and into the traffic ahead. I watched him take his time, slow down, and use his turn signal as he went through traffic for awhile. A mile or two later, the parkway merged onto a freeway, I rolled back up to about 80 and eventually passed him again as he just kind of sat in a lane and paced behind another car for awhile.

I think there's one thing that pisses me off more than everything else in traffic - people not using their turn signals. If you want to **** me off, swerve in front of me without using your turn signal - you'll get my attention real ------- fast that way.

In another event, I followed an old civic through a left hand turn onto a two-lane-same-direction road. He pulled into the right lane, which merged with the left lane about 1/4th of a mile later. I was in the left lane, and intelligent to what was ahead, I stayed a few car lengths behind him so that he could get back over into the left lane. The road that we turned on was a 45 MPH road, and ol' boy in the civic was holding at about 25 mph. After he had held at 25MPH for about 5 seconds, I made the decision that he didn't know what he was doing and decided to accelerate past him - I made it to about 55mph and let off, coming up on the back of a pickup truck (again with ------- pickup trucks!) and set in to following distance behind the truck as we go through a green traffic light. Immediately after the traffic light, the dashed white lines (indicating 2 lanes) are discontinued, and the road begins physically shrinking to 1-lane in width. As I pass the light, at about 45mph behind a pickup, I look up in the rear view mirror, and ol' boy in his civic is flying up on my *** at probably 60-65mph. There's no-one else behind me, and I'm not planning on letting him in front of me, as there's no room. It would be a different story if I was doing 45 and there was no one in front of me. I take up a tailgating following distance behind the truck as dude comes up beside me, then I just ease into the middle of the lane - he can either hit me or back off - but he's not getting in front of me, that's for sure. Up ahead, I make a left turn into a housing development, and dude follows me, his nose so far up my tailpipe that he's getting fresh air from the compressor side of the turbo. I stop and he decides to pull up beside me and pin the front of my car police style.

Then get this - dude decides to get out of his car.

What a ------- idiot - don't ever get out of your ------- car. Now I have a 2500lb weapon, and you're just a crunchy. ------- moron.

I back up (because there's obviously nothing behind me), put it in first, and spin the tires as I drive away from him. Unfortunately, small subdivision, only one entrance/exit. I make it back to the exit, dude following me and hit the stop sign. HE GETS OUT OF HIS CAR AGAIN!! As if this time it's going to be a different result? What the ---- are you thinking - DUMBASS! I jump out into traffic on a right turn and just drive away, never see him again.

After that incident, I began searching prices for TAZERs. Turns out I can get a pretty awesome setup for about $500. Might be good insurance for when someone thinks they're going to take out the car and beat the ---- out of me. "---- YOU **** HOLE - JUST LAY THERE AND FLOP AROUND FOR A LITTLE WHILE WHILE I GET A TIRE IRON"

Encounter with a ***** Audi driver, while driving my 540i LOL.

Heavy stop and go traffic on surface street. I was in lane 2, half a block from a red light and wanted to move to the left lane to make a left turn, so I signaled left. Traffic wasn't moving. The Audi driver to my left and slightly behind me expressed his displeasure by jumping forward and closing the gap to near zero. I laughed, and then egged him by imitating his move, moving my 540 a foot closer to his car. This got me a predictable rage reaction from him.

I think my laughing enraged him further. For about a minute while the light was red he was continuously raging and shaking and yelling and flailing his arms.

Betcha the driver behind us thought "look at those 2 ***** eurocar drivers duke it out!"

LOL

I'd ride a bike in the city, but where I live there are lots of curvy roads, elevation changes and blind corners with no space for a bike and normal traffic. All of this makes it dangerous for the rider because he/she could easily get hit, and dangerous for the driver because he/she could get in an accident when avoiding a bicyclist or get hit by a car avoiding a bicyclist.

Back in high school I rather enjoyed a little road rage now and then... case in point:

One day I was rollin' in my 5.0 with the windows down, minding my own business, doing about 40. Up ahead, I saw an old fart in a Buick pull up from a side street, waiting to turn on to my street. I could see him inching out, and I'm pretty sure he could see me. I could see his effing face and he was looking right at me. At the very last possible second, he lurches out and turns into my lane, doing about 3 mph. I had to brake and swerve to miss him, and I leaned on the horn as I passed him. As I passed, we made eye contact and he was shaking his middle finger furiously at me as his wife was trying to hold him back. "This oughta be good," I thought. I slowed back down to his pace and we exchanged pleasantries. I actually smiled as I pointed out his **** poor driving technique. He kept yelling and shaking his fist. His wife kept telling him to let it go. Then he started to fake-swerve into my car. And that's when I effing lost it. I told him to keep yapping, and that he had picked the wrong m-effer to mess with. And with that, I chucked a full large Coca-Cola - cup and all - out my window right into his lap as I nailed the gas. His face went from angry tough old man to "OH SHI* WTF JUST HAPPENED!?!??" in about a tenth of a second. He tried to duck out of the way, and in the process, steered his ol' Buick right up on to the curb and into somebody's bushes. The moral of the story is: don't eff with stupid high school kids in Mustangs...

I've mellowed a lot since then, but I'm still a fan of the brake check as a means of driver training. It's like a quick yank on a choke-chain - most folks pay attention and straighten up pretty quick, especially if they see brake lights AND a little tire smoke.

Guy passed me in my truck as I was in a left turn lane with my blinker on and shouted "Phucking Assh0le!!"

Turns out that was the wrong turn for me so a little ways down the road we happened to end up next to one another at a light. He still had his window down so I asked him if he had a problem and gave him a flash of my gold teeth. Lilly-*** white boy stared straight ahead and wouldn't acknowledge me. Guess he ain't tough when a ***** be starin' him down.

I'm pretty much in a state of perpetual rage. My commute is almost 2 hours, 45-60 min in Los Angeles traffic, then 45-60 min up a 8,000' mountain road. On my way to work it's not so bad, 4:30 in the morning not to many people to **** me off.

It's wintertime so I'm driving a 87 toyota 4runner SAS'd with a 6" lift, 33' tires and a tired 22R. If I'm on your ***, your f-ing slow. Now I don't mind slow, when I have the wife and kids with me in the 7.3 ford we drive pretty slow, but I use the turnouts to let faster traffic pass. You know, the golden rule.
But every single day I get people that drive 25mph around the corners (miata is near 70, 4runner can do 45) but floor it when they get to the straits, so I can't ever pass in my weak *** rig. This goes on for an hour, behind the same f-ing person. I've been mellower lately, but in the past I'd be 6" off their *** flashing my lights, honking the horn and screaming out the window. Now I do just enough to show them I'm irritated. My vehicles are pretty recognizable, and I have a family and kids now so it's time to mellow out.

Merging onto the highway I was behind this rather slow car. Whatever, not a big deal.

As we're merging we're at about 55ish. I see this truck hauling *** up behind me in the right lane. The left lane is COMPLETELY empty. I merge into the right lane thinking this dude behind me will switch to the left and just go around with no problem.

NOPE!

He ------ blasts his horn and acts like he's going to clip my back bumper as he 'swerves' into the left lane. Him and his fat bitch both flip me off with enthusiasm as they pass me. They then get beside the car that was in front of me and I can see both of them screaming and flipping off this poor old woman who merged too slow apparently.

I'd had enough. You move to the left lane when people are merging. You don't speed up and try to keep people from entering the highway. This bullshit has to stop. I slammed the gas and cut in front of them once there was a safe path. I locked up my brakes, causing them to do the same, then stuck the biggest middle finger I could muster out the window as I floored it and went about my way. They didn't get near me after that...

The one thing that really, really pisses me off.

When someone has to pass you badly, doing stupid ---- to do it.

And then proceeds to go slower than you were driving originally. ------- hell, that pisses me off.
