Default Thanks, UPS, for another fuckup job.

Anyone else think 8 business days to get a radiator from Tennessee to California is a bit absurd? Between this and them delivering my harnesses and rollbar to my neighbors, an $1100 70lb package, I think I'm sticking with FedEx from now on. It's been rescheduled twice now, and I bummed rides around all afternoon so my car would be cooled down by the time it arrived. What a ******* waste of a sunny day.

I also prefer FEDEX over UPS. I have never had problems with FEDEX.

I've always bad better luck with ups...it doesn't hurt that my local airport is a hub, and ground shipping takes one or two days from anywhere in the us.

I used to have a home based business. I've paid extra for FedEx morning delivery. Called my supplier at noon to find out if he had sent it that way. He called FedEx who said the package had been delivered. I start looking all over the area for a package. 2:00p.m. the FedEx guy tries to sneek the package under the door mat but the dog hears him and barks. I get to the door in time to see the truck drive away. The driver had scanned the package as delivered 4 hours earlier so he wouldn't get in trouble for a late delivery. To FedEx's credit they gave me free shipping on my next A.M. delivery.

I've used fedex with my biz for 12 years and NEVER had a problem. OTOH I had a damage goods claim with UPS, they picked the product up and then proceeded to tell they had no record of receiving the item- even with proof of their signed pickup tag. I never did get a resolution- and I'm out $250. There's a point at which you just can't invest any more time with something like that, only avoid them.

No UPS horror stories, but FEDex Ground has always come through for me, and cheaper.

I had UPS loose an *expensive* projector once. It was around christmas time and the projector was in its original box that proudly displayed what was inside. The driver who picked it up from me signed the pick up ticket (which I kept in my desk) and left, but somehow the projector never made it to the UPS hub. And there was never any tracking information for the package.

There was, however, the ticked signed by the UPS driver which was instrumental in the claim.. UPS ended up cutting a check for the wholesale value of the projector. I think it took them 1 or 2 weeks to do so.

The ********* at UPS lost my original turbo but it turned out to be a blessing because I ended up getting it for free (kind of). When I called to complain the woman told me that it went through their Atlanta hub and they get 2.5 million packages through there each day. No excuses but that is pretty incredible. Just goes to show you how much $$$$ they bring in. In any event, I don't think I have had a single package in the past 6 months from UPS that hasn't been completely trashed by the time it gets to me. I don't know what they do with them (run over them before delivery?) but some are pretty bad. I usually snap a pic or two of the box with a digital camera now because I know that I will sooner or later need the documentation for a claim.

i've filed over 1000 dollars in claims with UPS and got it all back.

the trick (and you HAVE to trick them) is to insure everything for what it would cost to replace it new and the hassle to do so and call them on EVERY detail they **** up on. day late? free shipping. box damaged? Free shipping.

also it helps to get to know your driver, but that can't solve problems before it gets to him/her.

but yeah, FedEx Ground FTW.

I had a UPS package I sent to a customer 50 miles away. It took 24 days and stopped in 23 cities. It went from Portland to Vancouver WA, back to Portland, to Boise, to Chicago, to Nashville... On and on. After an 8000 mile trip it came back to my store broken to hell. Lost a pissed off customer (Jerk blamed me even though I had nothing to do with the problem. ***) and never collected a nickel.

I thought I should have gotten something just for contributing to the UPS hall of fame.

I love UPS, being a UPS hub city rules.

On the other hand, I love my FedEx driver, he is super cool.

So I'm torn between my loyality to my driver, and ups's killer delivery times..

never had a problem with UPS, however it took fedex nearly 5 weeks to delivery my motorcycle helmet from a location less than 5 hours away (atlanta to charleston).

Glad I paid extra for the 2 day shipping, or it may have taken 5 months.

Ive never had a problem with any company, but UPS did deliver half my rims to the elderly lady who lives three doors down, she was nice enough to call and let me know she had them.

have had problems with UPS also. To bad they are a tad cheaper than fedex and alot of places thus use them

I remember when i ordered new tires one time. The place one pck. of 2 tires on one truck and the other 2 on a different truck. It took two days after the first pair were delivered to get my 2nd pair. They told me once they are brought to Houston they don't know what trucks the are placed on. I'm was libbed and said they why do you even use tracking if you cant tell me what truck you put a shipment on.
