electronics guys: radio help
I am getting major signal interference due to either my megasquirt or walbro fuel pump. It is mostly the higher FM radio stations (104.1, 105.5, 107.7 ect). They will come in perfectly clear with ACC on. when i turn the car to on (engine running or not) i completely loose the radio stations.
I have a pioneer head unit grounded to the metal frame, OEM antena, MS1, walbro 190hp. Any help would be great, I just noticed this today and with my commute next year i want some free tunes! |
What spark plug wires?

random NGK's that came with the car... but it doesnt matter, it happens even with the key to ON and the engine not running.

Do you have the issue when you prime the fuel pump with the motor off?

When you say grounded to the metal frame, do you mean the frame that houses the radio, or the car frame? The housing for the radio isn't a very good ground. Ground the radio to to the body. Clean the paint off in that spot and use a good ground.

Its actually a ghetto ass ground to a bolt by the shifter. U think a good ground will help a lot? Im moving the radio to the lower DIN and installing gauges above it this weekend, ill get a good ground then.
