Element Tires

Ok, this is in the off topic area because it has to do with the wifes honda element. It has 215/70/16 craptastic wrangler tires.

I can go wider they say with a 225/60/16 and it fits just fine and doesn't mess with the speedo, actually corrects it.

But what in the $90-100 range is decent for a california car?

I went to two different element club sites but wanted to commit suicide after reading learning nothing... One site was filled with he whole "Honda engineers know best and put stockers on" and the other was slam it and put 35lb 17's on it and it'll look so jdm cool...

Really, I want decent tires that I can thrash on when I have to drive that pile of crap.

So, you found element.net and clubelement.net? :D

You've looked on tirerack and such, I take it? What are your top 3?

BFGoodrich Traction T/A V
Yokohama AVID V4S
Kumho Ecsta ASX
Continental ContiExtremeContact

Nyone familiar with these...they are about the same price...all coming in under 100 bucks each.

My limited experience as a tire tech/salesman taught me that as a general rule, BFGs are heavy and Continentals love to find nails (or at least their owners seem to be good at finding them..) I'm a Kumho fan myself so I'd go with the Ecstas in this group.

Or, seeing as they're the same price roughly and are going on a commuter vehicle, maybe just go with the ones that say they'll last longer.
