This is my weekend/fun car. I have owned this car since March 2010 and driven it less than 500 miles since then. I recently bought another car to drive on weekends so this one is up for sale.
I have purchased numerous aftermarket and turbo parts for this car that can be included for additional cost.
The car is being sold in the condition I bought it since I have not had time to play with the car, much less drive it.
This car PASSES SMOG with no problem and will be sold with a valid smog certification for the next 2 years.

The car originally came with an auxiliary fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator installed. I have removed these items in preparation for a Megasquirt programmable ECU. I have the injectors, Megasquirt ECU, and all the items required for installation available for additional cost.

Towing hom in the race trailer and almost got killed when buddy was driving and trailer swung out and we took out 50' of gaurdrailing and thw trailer rolled on its side and settled onto our hood right before a big ravene. Cars banged up. Truck and trailer are totaled and this miata that was super clean now looks liek a missle car.... ****. So ****ing bummed. See what insurance does about the whole thing. What a waste of a sick car..

After like 4-5 of te big wood gaurdrail posts. I felt each one thud thud thud

2nd day. Lower back n side sore from flying outta the seat into the dash as i was sleepibg w no belt on lol. Gf gave me a nice wakeup today so who cares about the hip!!

Glad we are oknncould of been way worse. Trying to figure out what happened im thinking the tire had maybe blown or something as he was in left lane
Normal and then he said it started to pull left abd the trailer touched the dirt and kept going off down the slught embankment and he turned right as he saw the big gaurdrail n ditch coming up and then it bit abd shot us across to the other side where we piled down the guardrail and **** hit the fan. Lyckily noone else was involved or hurt.
horse's mouth

phillyb 08-24-2011 03:24 PM

gospeed81 08-24-2011 04:14 PM

Do people really type like that?

mgeoffriau 08-24-2011 04:22 PM

I assumed he was high on post-accident pain medication when he typed that up.

I'm still high on post-surgical meds and I know what the fuck spelling and grammar are.

he drives like it.

mgeoffriau 08-24-2011 04:49 PM

Should we just go ahead and move this to the Parts For Sale/Trade subforum? I'm interested in the steering wheel.

elesjuan 08-24-2011 05:01 PM

I'll take the.. uhm... Nevermind..

mca 08-24-2011 05:14 PM

So yes, I forgot to mark it sold here on MT.

Yes, that really did happen to the buyer on his way home to Las Vegas from Orange County. Very nice guy just has some unfortunate luck on the interstate.

From a guy who paid $4k for that car, I'm not surprised.

In retrospect, I should have advertised my car on CR.net.

pusha 08-24-2011 08:56 PM

Should have bought a gooseneck. I do 85 mph everywhere and have no issues with wind.

soviet 08-24-2011 09:01 PM

Looks better than my car even after the rollover.
If you read the CR.net thread (I did at work, obv.) - the issue is clear. A woman was driving.

jeff_man 08-24-2011 09:34 PM

Hope he had towing coverage.

he probably didn't, just like most people who claim to have "full coverage" have some bullshit policy that they've never actually read. It's easier to tell everyone you have "full coverage" and be completely ignorant of UM and all the other must haves.

Love my full coverage with USAA, i get ~75+% value on all parts that are "bolted to the car and can not be removed with out tools" as long as i have photos of it on the car.

nickt93 08-25-2011 11:13 AM

Wow - chances of me getting a tow rig now: decreased. Look how close the trailer came to landing on the cab!

pdexta 08-25-2011 04:01 PM

That really sucks, poor car.

um, have you ever towed anything with a gooseneck?

I've never towed anything but a 4'x4' Harbor Freight trailer. I don't even know what a gooseneck is - is that good or bad? Is this a situation where this whole thing could have been avoided by using the right equipment?

**EDIT** Just educated myself on gooseneck hitches. Looks like a good investment.

it's a breeze. like I've said many times before, I cruise at 85 mph all day no problems

TNTUBA 08-26-2011 06:13 AM

Looks like
1) No weight distributing hitch - FAIL
2) No sway control - FAIL
3) MOST of the damage to the Miata could have been avoided if it had been STRAPPED DOWN - HOLY FAIL

Doppelgänger 08-26-2011 07:34 AM

Clearly the person who bought the car is a complete fucking tool. The car is probably better off this way rather than being owned by him.
