English is officially dead.
I was searching for parts using a craigslist rss feed generator and it came up with this one.

He must have few teeth in his mouth, or does a lot of drugs. And in order for people to understand his physical limitations or altered mental state, he must portray himself this way over the Internet with the written word, as well. Otherwise, people would get the wrong impression when responding to his post in person.

I'm not a big hip-hop fan but I think Soulja Boy started this method of speaking. I can't give him credit for the typing skills of others but just listen to his songs. He rarely/never finishes the last syllable of words through an entire sentence.

My girlfriend was telling me how her professors at school insist that if you email them, you are not to use any slang at all. They want to see proper grammar. I cant believe they have to stress this in class. None of my instructors have told me this, although I go to community college =P
I must say when we do peer editing on papers in my English classes i'm downright surprised at what I read most of the time. One of my instructors actually asked if anyone had any formal grammar lessons in their early schooling. I was the only person to raise my hand. Also, my grandmother (who raised me) has an MBA in English and would not let me sound like one of the local slack-jawed yokels.
I must say when we do peer editing on papers in my English classes i'm downright surprised at what I read most of the time. One of my instructors actually asked if anyone had any formal grammar lessons in their early schooling. I was the only person to raise my hand. Also, my grandmother (who raised me) has an MBA in English and would not let me sound like one of the local slack-jawed yokels.

Be it a community college or a university it doesn't matter. Most of the students are ******* idiots with little to no grasp of the English language. The emails I get on my university mail account from these clowns are ridiculous.
"Hey does ne1 no when the exam is?"
Disregard it's on the syllabus and plastered all over the course page.
"Yo, I cant make it 2 class 2morrow. can some1 email me the notes plz?"
Brilliant.

Usually when I see people write in such terrible English with such laziness, I refuse to talk to them. They are TYPING because it's easier, neater and faster than writing....so they find it neccessary to destroy the purpose of the computer. Im sorry but if you cannot type then pick up a phone and call someone, it's the last step in laziness, because of the almighty speakerphone.

It's a great school, it's just funny trying to communicate with the teachers sometimes. So far I've "learned":
1 - the function of the heart is to purify the blood.
2 - a bicycle can have more than two wheels.
3 - lasers don't do anything, laser light does.
4 - when speaking about a stroke, you must specify that you mean a *brain* stroke... For example: "My mother had a brain stroke."
5 - the plural of "sheep" is "ship".
6 - "unction" is a common English word that everyone knows.
7 - "Resume" is not the word we use in English, we say "CV".
And that's just over the last week or so.

Monterey is the ****. I miss it a lot. There is a good Persian restaurant in town that we use to always go to, Persian Grill I think it was called. They love DLI students and usually hook em up with food. But yeaa, we had quite a few misunderstandings with our teachers due to lack off English speaking ability. Although most of them could prolly spit out a more comprehensible string of words after their first day in the states then the Craigslist poster.
