F Previous Owners in the B hole

Finally decided to get into the wiring on a KTM 525 I have had for a while. Converted it into a Super Moto and it is by far the funnest thing I have ever ridden. Brake lights and turn signals were giving me shit so I decided to open up the harness and get into it. The stupid ass PO had spliced a aftermarket controls into the stock harness with the old twist and tape method. Not even butt connectors. Brake lights worked but were just on all the time because the micro switch on the front lever was stuck closed. He obviously tried to "troubleshoot" that and made things worse. I just hope he gets full blown AIDS and lives just long enough to die the day after he retires.https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...517d0264a6.jpg

Holy shit thats jank. I'm surprised you didn't blow fuses on a regular basis.

We have a C6 corvette at my work with a hole in the gas tank because the previous owner drilled into it trying to mount an amplifier. Some people should just stay away from cars/bikes

+1 for supermotos being fun

I'd say you are still in the win. With only a few low voltage wires for turn signals and such. That's like a 2 hr. Job to fix, if you are super analysis about the fix.
Hardly warrants death.

When I bought my supermoto, it had a leaking front fork seal. I wasn't worried, I've bought a lot of motorcycles over the years and work on all of them. A few months later I decided to fix it. Took the fork apart and WOW! The inner fork tube was bent. Like a real obvious bend, just above the fork seal, hidden from plain sight. Because it had been pushed up inside after the crash, it appeared to be straight.

I had wondered why the guy seemed like a nervous tweaker..

Well technically not a death threat. I am not going to give the full blown AIDS. I am just hoping he gets the full blown AIDS and dies at a hilarious (for me) point in his life.

I can't even picture what you are describing with that fork. Wouldn't it drag on the body? Or DUMP fluid?

You would think so, but it didn't. He bent it with the fork completely extended. So just smash down on inch, and the next buyer, me, can't tell.

Thank god for ebay. Found a complete fork for 150 bucks.

The previous owner of my friend's turbo Miata used the same twist and tape method to install the VooDoo box. Leaving 1" of wire to work with at the ECU connector. You know, nothing important, like fuel injector or ecu power wires....

E bay rules for weird stuff. My kid has a 2002 Husky boy junior 50. Apparently BMW bought Husqvarna a few years ago and discontinued the whole line of those bikes, and all the parts. Pretty much, if you find a dealer that has that part you need in stock, lucky you cause that's the only way your gettin it. Anyway, the bike had blown fork seals...I ended up buying a complete fork set on eBay for like $80.
