Failed Emissions - sort of...
I thought I'd post this because - well I never had anything like this happen:
I took my car to the Shell up the street for a simple OBD-I emissions. There wasn't a single car in the shop - and there was like 5 mechanics sitting around. I asked if they could do emissions and the head redneck said sure. I went over to the pump and started my miata and pulled it to the bay. He asked me what year (93) and the head mechanic made a scowl and some overdramatic sigh when I told him it was OBD-I. I offered to back the car on the rollers and he told me to get out and wait "45 minutes". He promptly made a show of falling into my race seats. A second later he popped back up out of the seat claiming he hurt himself on the bolsters and said to take my car elsewhere and refused to do my emissions. Gotta say - first time I've had anyone treat me like that. Any suggestions for payback? I asked for the owners name (Mark Walker) but doubt I'll ever get ahold of him since he rarely goes into the store. Any other avenues? |
I heard gas is flammable.

In NYS (NoVa may be different), failure to provide an inspection is grounds for them losing the license. Take it up with local law enforcement. Fuck them over for being dicks.

Can't say I blame him, I hate the living shit out of most of the racing seats I've seen in Miatas. Not all of us have the physique of a 14 year old Japanese schoolgirl. |
drive over in a junker that you didn't pay actual money for and isn't registered in your name and has a lot of mechanical problems.
get them to do as much work as possible. never return? |

The vehicle inspection program is administered by the Virginia State Police. I don't believe they'd be too amused to hear about that, then again they're not known for having a sense of humor in the first place.
