Default Apartment with garage?

I just got a new job (haven't started yet) so I need to move about 150 miles.

Does anybody here have any suggestions on how to find an apartment with a garage without calling every listed place to ask?

Also, if I can't find a place with a garage, how do all you other guys work on your cars in the winter months without a garage? Just in the driveway, or do you take it somewhere? Obviously I don't need a huge garage because a miata will fit in just about any garage with enough room around it to work on it. I had a garage all of last year and it was great so now I am spoiled.

Suggestions are appreciated. If it matters, this will be in the Kittery, Maine area.

oh, and my budget doesn't support renting a whole house that happens to have a garage. :-(

most nice apartment complexes have garages you can rent.

I just rented a coverd car port since my parents live about 15 minutes away. Hi mom hi dad, came to visit, i'll be in the garage

(side note just saw were you are from. My GF is from maine.)

Ok, I'll keep an eye out for complexes.

I used to do that to my parents when I lived in the dorms, but since my mom left (dad kept the house), the garage has been full of crap so he can't even fit his porsche in there. (In all fairness, it's my stuff in the garage that will be disappearing when I get an apartment)

Thanks Bayside!

I haven't really decided which state I want to live in yet, the only real difference I have come up with is emissions testing. Maine doesn't have any but NH supposedly uses OBDII scans. not a huge deal. Any suggestions on that would be great too. I will be paying Maine income tax, and renting I wont pay any property tax, and all shopping will be done in NH regardless.

We have garages in every complex in Texas. Too bad Katrina trash is moving in.

probably not a solution because it would take just as much time as calling but if google has been over the area you could see every apartment using google maps and try to find a garage.

Actually I'm talking about the poor refugees that haven't been able to find a job in 4-years and get bankrolled by your government who get to live in the apartment complex across the street who like to walk through my apartment complex and steal **** from cars...daily. There's also been a recent, dramatic spike in rape in my gated apartment which is fairly nice. Well, it was a nice place until about 6-months ago when the complex across the street decided to go with free HUD money.

Am I the only one who had to read that twice to see that he wasn't excited about all the rape happening in his apartment??

I would never move anywhere without narrowing down the area first... they may have a garage, but it will be in the ghetto. Find the area you want to live in, then narrow that search down to places with garages.

Just my thoughts.

NH testing is easy.. it dont take much to get a sticker slaped on a car without even looking at the car..

back when i had my 2001 eclipse i went somewhere and they just filled out the sticker and told me to put it on..they never even looked at my car.

the ONLY (that i can think of) downside to jumping the boarder is paying the maine income tax..
