I think it would have been ******* awesome if he would have just left it alone on the outside. Going through extra trouble to make it look like trash is what ruined it a bit for me.

For instance, it would not have been very hard to run the speedo into the cabin. It would not have been much harder to run a real gas gauge. A new replacement taillight would have cost all of $20. The wooden front splitter is just garbage, at least put a tiny bit of effort into it. Running the oil cooler into the mouth of the bumper would not have been any harder at all, just as functional, and would look good.

The cut in the hood I'm okay with. It needed the clearance. The rest of the car is pretty damn awesome imo.

The thing is, you refer to these things being "not much harder." This guy clearly knows how to do stuff right, if he wants to. Look at his engine, trans, suspension. Listen to him talk about what he's put on the car. He is skilled and knows his stuff. The exterior stuff is a J-O-K-E. It's a joke! Yes it would have been just as easy, if not easier, to put the oil cooler in a proper spot, same with the speedo. But he didn't. I think the car would be freaking sickly cool if the exterior had just been left alone, but then it wouldn't be a very fast joke.

I'm not saying it's not a fun car, or that it doesn't have some heart in it. Its the attention whoring. A coat of flat black krylon and tucking stuff inside the car goes a long way to making it look better. Not good, but not "hey look at me!"

Again, if he did NOTHING for the looks and only go-fast bits, I would agree with you. But having oil coolers and speedos on your hood makes you no different than any other ricer, regardless of what is under the hood.

He's 19, hopefully one day he grows out of it. Until then, I will help him grow out of it by calling it out for what it is.

I'm not setting up races here and I'm not saying he is faster than you or anyone else. I'm just saying he does in fact care about performance...

The only track time i know of that he has is in Lemons racing when he was 17 i think. He didn't care much for the track since he lived at the bottom of a road that is much more versatile than any track around.

Nice try pay out isn't till 100 so you've still made 0 as well

Honestly though he did an AMA on reddit. The kid's never had it on a track. I'd imagine never seen a dyno as well, and i'd doubt it makes the claimed 400whp like he said.

I dont want to road race, im not a idiot that does that stuff anymore illegally... Nor do I do massive obnoxious pulls like a tard to get attention.

Lemon racers dont drive their cars on the streets.

If he really cared about performance then maybe he can get some new tires and stop wasting them.

wtf climbed up the *** of some posters in this thread?

Seriously, this is a site with pink motherfucking highlights and a cat mascot that resides in a turbo. Not something I was expecting to happen with this thread.

Well if you ask me you still act like someone that road races. Making empty assumptions of people, their cars and their skills. Maybe one day you guys will meet and then you can test your skills in your own way. Ill leave that up to you.

Putting tons of "lazy" work into making a car look like a complete beater is an empty joke.

Its been on a dyno and it was tuned by a reputable tuner here in So Cal. the car made 330whp. Nothing was said about 400whp, i said 400hp. Crank hp.
The car weighs around 2400-2500lbs.

Comparison:
My brothers 350z makes 400whp on Stillen's dyno at 9psi.

The RX-7 is faster.
