Default first rain in 7 months today

......And my car is absolutely tractionless

Im not talking "I floor it all the time, shift fast, and drop the clutch" tractionless. Its more like "I drive 10 under speed limit, ease in each gear and let the clutch out smoothly" and yet it spins the tires pretty much every time I take off and if I ever want to pass anyone and give it a wee bit of gas to speed up, It tries to get sideways

Now I know all of you are probably used to this and what not, but I live in california where it barely rains, and first rain means extra slick roads till all the oil and **** is washed off. On top of that I have owned subaru's for the past 4 years and pretty much had to work hard to break traction.

At first it was a bit surprising but holy **** is it fun once you get it under control. Just tap the gas a little and let it step out a bit, counter steer, etc..

Just wanted to share, and no **** you Im not a dr!fter

My car had some bald-*** tires from prev. owner until about 3 weeks ago when I got 912s. I knew I had to get new ones before the rains came, those old ones were fine in the dry but both fun and _terrifying_ if the roads were damp at all.

18, just don't wag the tail too much. I agree though, the occasional powerslide around a wet corner is great fun and != buttsex. As long as it's not "i can gets more sidewayz than teh 240s" or anything.

And why the **** does it always rain just before weekends? I'm supposed to move furniture tomorrow from up in Jackson!

I've been rolling around on my NT-01s all summer doing autocrosses, and I just pulled them off last week after my trackday at Buttonwillow. I've had a couple of moments where I've forgotten that the 185/60 Falken 912s are NOT the 225/45 NT-01s. I cannot wait for the 225/45 Toyo R1R.

I drove wife's Focus with Fuzion ZRi's, and my M3 with FK451's and while it was pretty slippery, it wasn't THAT bad...

It was supposed to rain last night, didn't. Was supposed to rain today, it misted for an hour or so and stopped. It hasn't rained once since I got here at the beginning of August... I'm not complaining

I'd hate no rain for 7 months. Jesus, crazy arid there. One thing I like about south Florida, its like living in a rainforest. Rained nearly everyday torrentially from late April to late July.

You can always tell an out-of-towner because they slow down when it starts raining

while I love the weather here, this and last year were both a bit too dry for my liking. when the rain finally came yesterday (and it was more like mist mind you, not full on rain) it refreshed everything so nicely I just wanna stay outside for as long as possible

This past saturday was the 3rd real rainy day we have had since May and we received 1/3 of our total average October rain in one day, even set a new single day record for rainfall. Although my G-Force Sports do well in the rain and pass SUV's all the time, I left the Miata parked and drove my Jeep to the farmer's market. The Miata does decent in the rain, but it does get hard to see and for others to see the Miata.

Kind of hard for people not to see me driving the Jeep, as you can see I can almost fit the Miata under it. We won't even get into that hobby!!

Uhhh, you ever notice the amount of accidents along 95 when it is raining? Thats because people DON'T slow down when its raining. Its like people forget how to drive when its raining.

It snows in Sacramento? I just wish it got more than 15mpg, lol!! But, it is faster than most cars on the road and puts a lot of smiles on my face when I get away from the city.

I've lived here for 11 years and never known it to snow. 18, you talking about here or somewhere else?

I used to commute through Sac from Lodi to McClellan AFB. Every single time it rained (even just a mist) it was 5 mph on I-5 from Elk Grove to the capital.

I don't miss that commute.
