Default First real kill ever.

So I dropped my GF off at home and decided to take the long way back to my place. It just so happened that the entrance to the highway was closed and I had to take a detour on a road that runs parallel to the highway above(non residential). As im sitting there at the light waiting to turn onto this road, zooms by a current gen mustang gt, and a previous gen eclipse spyder. I sat at the light some more, it turned green and I look there they are standing at a red with a spot just for me. I took advantage of the situation and pulled up to the light as well. So its three of us lined up. As soon as I saw the two of them creeping, I knew it was on.

Me in the left, mustang in the center, eclipse in the right.

In my lane, up ahead is some road construction which forces me to merge right rather quickly. If I dont get ahead of the mustang before that I will have to brake.

Light turns green and we are off. Tbh, I have never had a more perfect launch, it was text book. Mustang got the jump but half way through first I was neck and neck, eclipse lost before the race even started. I chirped into second and pulled away and quickly merged into his lane. I would say less then 10 maybe 15 seconds went by and it was over.

At the next light the guy in the eclipse gave props, mustang was behind me. Light turned green and the mustang performed a ricer flyby, didnt even look at me. He looked pretty pissed though.

Fun night I must admit and my first ever real kill.

Then I hit a hole in the street that sounded like it was going to eat the car. Loud metal on metal sound. Drove home fine, explored the front suspension, seemed fine too. Hopefully its nothing.

non-miata related kill:

10-10:30am on tuesday. santa monica blvd between avenue of stars and 405 freeway. im just sitting there at red light in my 350z and some mid-life dude is revving his couple years old porsche carrera s. so i decided to have some fun to wake up. light turns green - i launch my car which im pretty bad at so guy takes about a car length or so lead on me. he was about 2 cars ahead of me for my entire second gear but then i shift to third and my car just starts to fly (its optimized for top end.) by mid 4th gear (100-some mph) i have 2 cars on him. hit rev limiter at around 130ish mph and see traffic forming up ahead so i just down shift to third and slow down to about 60mph and guy does same thing as op's mustang - ricer fly-by.

in the end - who the hell cares whos car is faster? its just a car!

^ Youre right, at the end of the day he is driving a porsche and you a datsun.

But on a more serious note, IMHO cars is just an extension of lifes most important goal. The quest for more power.

Sam makes me proud; he texted me 10 minutes post his win mixing russian with english - that happens in two situations:

A. Sam wins a race.
B. Sam just got laid.

Remember that folks.

Good job, Sam. So how much power are you putting down these days?

No idea. Whatever 16psi on a T25 makes.

Based on what I have been reading, id estimate maybe 240 at the wheels.

But really, as long as its enough to school my friends cars, thats all that matters. I havent been on the dyno, did all my fuel and spark tuning on the street. I'm waiting for a dyno day that a local forum holds, soon as thats on, ill go.
