I will never understand the bashing on Miata.net. It is by FAR the best specific automotive forum. Sure they dont accept stupid **** but why is that a reason to bash on them? There information still amazes me to this day its almost like they could close it down forever and there will be everything you will ever need to know. Anyways this thread sucks.

I've noticed M.neters don't like thinking outside the box, the find a good vendor and believe in everything they sell and do.

Read supercharger guys posts. Always fueling problems cause they refuse to believe in a RRFPR, but since JR came out with a powercard their lives are saved and have the time they aren't hooking them up right or even working good enough.

Read the suspension forums. Only a few acceptable setups allowed for discussion. Theories or new products are usually bashed untill they give up.

Just too many people with strong opinions and mods catering to sponsors, you really have to sift through the **** to find interesting reading.

Regardless I post there everyday for info and trying to recruit newbies to the FI section there over here so they can get answers, not drama.

Yes, there would be stuff you would want to read.. but there would also be about 2.7 billion useless posts based on opinion.

God forbid you recommend a $2000 turbo set up after a mod recommends a $4500 set up plus a $2000 stand alone. BTW, the original poster was after ~160 rwhp and drivability.

cause really f'n expensive supercharger setups that barely work as advertised is much better than doing things yourself.

I like it here. I like it at m.net. I guess I just like reading and planning my turbo path for that day I can afford it (getting impatient). I just read read read and ignore a lot. But yeah, there's more to ignore at m.net.

I wanted to reply to this thread earlier but decided to keep my mouth shut. Condescending was the exact word I was going to use also.

Thats what got me here. I still use the site, it still is a good resource, no need to knock it for that. You just have to sift thru all the bullshit...

My fav car related forum btw is vwvortex, ive been a member there since 2002 right about the time I picked up a gti. Its since been totaled, but im still on there.

The miata is a favorite among members there

Oh, man, really?! I'm a new member over there since I bought a Jetta 2.0T, and I hate that place! I would wager I feel the same way about that forum that a bunch of you knuckleheads feel about Miata.net

Well the vortex is a HUGE forum and certain sub-forums within it have certain groups of users that have their so called "views" on things and what not. Since I dont have my dub anymore, I dont view the model specific forums. Those are where a lot of the elitism is. I guess ive been on there so long that I know when I see BS and just avoid it. Its better off that way.

Another thing I noticed is that we all love BEGi here, whereas they all love FM there. Another example of sticking with a vendor over the man behind the beast. It's entertaining reading Corky vs Keith over there disputing turbo theories.

I'm not saying FM is a bad company, but Corky was the one who taught them everything and they did the marketing and selling.

it sounds like you've never had a thread totally get bashed/closed/the dredded mod pm(ohhhh) on somthing that is totally taste or completely preference based settings... your car is too low, those wheels are too wide, only fmII kit is worth looking at, ubercharger is the only true god, ect.

your low offset wheels will kill the wheel bearings prematurely! you'll only get 100k miles out of them now. wtfever

if i get 100K out of my current setup i think i would quite happily replace the stuff with better and do it agian. some of those people just dont get that you buy sticky tires and make cars fast to enjoy them not to polish and wax on them sure that will get you babes but, i would rather be wrneching or driving on my car than washing and waxing it.

The classic example; Mark Booth's Ride (M.net moderator)

It's a pretty sweet interior though...

You don't get near as much Astroglide splashback in your eyes from vendor stroking over on the Vortex like you do at M.net. You do get the sheep mentality though when it comes to styling...at least in the MKIII forum. Those guys are also really reluctant to jump on the water injection as well since no Vortex Allstars are running it. Most my VW sales were from my close buddies who all run boosted Vr6's.
