Silly Me, all these years I thought teaching your kids about gun safety was the answer. For very young children, i think this gun safe is a good part of securing your weapons, but should not be your only defense. Things happen, a gun can be left unsecured. If your children have not been taught the basics e.g., this is a real gun, it is not a toy, it will kill what ever it is pointed at, then you have failed. I was raised before in a different age, there where always loaded weapons in the house i learned at a very young age 4-5 that you don't even look at dad's gun, or you get a smack on the ass, i would have never even consider touching one of them. i have tried to raise my step kids in a similar manner. my step son started shooting at 8 years old, he is 11 now and i have to be on my toes, or he will out shoot me.
