Lucky guy.

flipt86 12-18-2009 04:03 PM

damn that sucks, thats why i dont take my car out on the rain

RotorNutFD3S 12-18-2009 04:39 PM

Worse maybe. It hits you harder when it's a close friend.

NA6C-Guy 12-18-2009 04:41 PM

Glad to hear he is OK. That could have ended much worse for him. As always, cars are replaceable.

x2! kind of shitty of him to say that

10AEHooked 12-18-2009 04:51 PM

Damn, glad he's alright man!

sixshooter 12-18-2009 05:05 PM

Should have bought a Civic. If I learned anything from The Fast and Furious it was that Civics can drive right under tractor trailers without incident.

I'm glad he's alright. I think about that kinda stuff all the time when I'm driving. I'm sure he's hugging his family tonight.

Doppelgänger 12-18-2009 05:49 PM

damn. wow. :(

I was out driving in this shit today and it was pretty bad at times.

hey sorry. didn't mean to discount your friend's pain and suffering. for what it's worth, the guy under the rig in my post walked away.

Joe Perez 12-18-2009 06:50 PM

Dibs on the engine. Also the tranny (if it's a 6 spd) and the diff (if the carrier is intact.)

scandmx5 12-18-2009 06:51 PM

yes its a 6spd
insurance gets to pick first, though
he also has a white hardtop sitting at home
i want GV lip spoiler

Vultures.

Here's some more pictures of the damage (our cars hold up pretty well vs. a tractor trailer, even when they don't hold up, like the one that y8s posted, people usually walk out of them ok somehow):

turotufas 12-18-2009 07:27 PM

Highway and rain not for me. That's why my sig says what it say. Very lucky.

Bassmachine 12-18-2009 07:37 PM

Damn that was a nice nb too, the interior was really to my tastes. Tell the guy he had created a awesome car, but sorry for the bad luck.

kotomile 12-18-2009 07:40 PM

Wow, glad everyone's okay.

Hope it's relatively clear for me when my SE tour (Jax and Augusta) starts tomorrow.

y8s 12-18-2009 08:59 PM

expecting 10-18 inches of snow in the next day. the miata will remain parked!

Time out: So fast and furious lied about driving under trucks?????
jk. On a more serious note:

I took out the miata today for 2 seconds to avoid flat-spotting the tires cause its been sitting. It was scary to say the least. Boost = loss of traction.

Good thing he is ok. My friend was in a near fatal accident with a semi on a highway in saudi at 90 mph in a volvo last year. Any other car and I think he would have been dead.

Faeflora 12-18-2009 11:02 PM

I'm glad he buffed out.

An old guitarist of mine had the same thing happen to him in some 4 door car. They were dragged under the trailer for over a mile before the truck driver realized what was going on and stopped.

scandmx5 12-18-2009 11:59 PM

yet again
volvo ftmfw
miss mine :(

Uncle Arthur 12-19-2009 01:02 AM

That'll buff out.

Good to hear the only damage was metal on metal.
