Yes, I think we all understand that. shuiend is saying that he doesn't feel comfortable downloading and opening a ZIP archive from an untrusted source, regardless of what the supposed payload is.
I can't say that I've ever heard of any sort of malicious software being able to infect a PC simply as a result of opening a ZIP archive, but I suppose anything is possible. Sidebar: It annoys me when people use PKZIP to archive files that are already compressed. |
PDF is still a very good exploit delivery medium - Adobe's Acrobat Reader is full of holes. I run Linux so the chance of getting something through a PDF are very slim, but more people need to beware.
