And this is? Way to untrusting to go download a random zip file from the Internet.

That reminds me, I need to install VMware on this new laptop.

I'll summarize: The earthquake and tsunami were deliberately caused by the liberal media in order to support the rise of socialist government in the US.

Er, a PDF, as per the thread title.

Will you be taking over for Glenn Beck after he hangs up his tinfoil hat?

Actually maybe not, you'd have to work in how all of this is Gods will and something about the founding fathers. Then you'd be golden.
:giggle:

The link takes us to a ZIP file.

No, I used to work on-air about 15 years ago, but these days I'm perfectly content designing equipment and building studios. Pays better.

Inside said ZIP is said PDF.

It's in a presentation style format, seemingly factual.

Joe Perez 04-10-2011 02:57 PM

Yes, I think we all understand that. shuiend is saying that he doesn't feel comfortable downloading and opening a ZIP archive from an untrusted source, regardless of what the supposed payload is.

I can't say that I've ever heard of any sort of malicious software being able to infect a PC simply as a result of opening a ZIP archive, but I suppose anything is possible.

Sidebar: It annoys me when people use PKZIP to archive files that are already compressed.

PDF is still a very good exploit delivery medium - Adobe's Acrobat Reader is full of holes. I run Linux so the chance of getting something through a PDF are very slim, but more people need to beware.

I was just referring to the concept of downloading and extracting a ZIP file. I don't personally think that particular process can be exploited to infect a machine with unwanted software.

It's a simplified summary of the past month's events as they pertain specifically to the unit 1-3 reactors. It contains diagrams and pictures that would probably he helpful to someone who is not familiar with the physical construction of an early-style GE boiling water reactor and its containment structure (particularly the torus-style wetwell which is unique to this design), however it does presuppose some basic knowledge of nuclear reactors in general.
