Default Best way to ship front lip?

By best I mean cheapest, while keeping it in one piece.

Ideas?

I just didn't know which of the big 3 shipping companies would be cheapest without driving all over town

Wrap the lip in something tough, put a shipping label on it, and ship it. Screw the box...

It doesn't really bother me, as long as it gets here in one piece. Shipping usually covers it for $100 either way.

+1, i sold sides skirts a few weeks ago and usps wanted $120 for shipping with a box. so i bubble wrap them and pack them with that brown paper really good and snuggy () and ended up paying $25.

but yeah def buy insurance is only like 2 dollars for $150 or something like that.

UPS should cover up to $100 automatically.

I've done exactly this a couple times. Always arrived fine. Shipping was only like $15-20 with insurance.

Using which shipping company? So far, UPS sounds like the place to go.

I'm just guessing on the dimensions here, but a quote for a 46"x10"x10" box @ 10lbs, via USPS Parcel post is $25.51 ($51.75 for Priority), and via UPS Ground is $23.99.

BTW, I used my zip code (06810) to CA (90210). So your actual quote may be cheaper than those prices I listed.

Depending on how you pay for it and get it to UPS factors into that price as well. USPS is easier, seeing that Parcel post can only be done in person at the post office, so theres no price variables on that quote.

I've shipped a dozen or so vintage chrome bumpers around the US via UPS using this thick *** blue bubble wrap that my bodyshop guy had on hand. I wrapped it around the bumper a couple times, taped the **** out of it, and put my fragile stickers, packing slip, and shipping label all on the outside of the blue wrap. Never had any complaints or issues with the bumpers showing up damaged.

In any case, I would recommend using USPS, depending on the size of the package that is. If it goes over a certain girth the price can jump quite a bit, but I think you should be safe with a front lip for a miata. UPS has caused me much grief over the past 5-6 years and I use them far and few now, only when I absolutely have to. USPS has yet to fail me (knock on wood).
