Oh. My. God. The jealouay is real. That's exactly what I want. Except I'd have a bridge crane added for lifting and flipping over boats.

Stealth97 04-18-2018 01:24 PM

Holeee hell. That’s bigger than the service department at a dealership I used to work for.

hornetball 04-18-2018 05:56 PM

Wife said "bigger is better." Who am I to argue? Also, we finally have our answer!

pakmx5 04-18-2018 09:12 PM

The answer to what? "how big is big enough?" haha

"Does size matter?"

Yes. Great car. Extremely overbuilt.

Prerry messy at the moment. Back left room has a sauna and little room I'm remodeling and the back right room is storage that needs sorted through. Also these are posted from mobile so I'll fix the rotation as soon as I get to a computer.

Recessed or raised floor for the flush mount scissor lift? I love the colors and details there. Not much room for that big-ass Challenger in there!

Godless Commie 05-10-2018 08:48 PM

I was thinking about a scissor lift for a while, but ultimately decided to go with a 2 post.
Much better access to errrything.

He saw cut the floor and dug out the dirt then put in rebar and concrete beneath the lifts before countersinking them in.

I don't have the progress pics anymore but here'sa test lift prior to the ceiling being raised.

How do you guys like the floor tiles? I have been considering them for my shop.

sixshooter 05-11-2018 09:59 AM

I don't like them. He likes them but because that Challenger has headers so low to the ground the tiles expand and push up, lol. He has to put something under the car to keep the heat from the headers off of the tiles.

I'll stick with concrete.

matrussell122 05-11-2018 10:20 AM

Makes sense. I was also considering that paint garage flooring. My shop floor just looks like shit

rleete 05-11-2018 10:25 AM

Tiles suck. I tried them, as my garage floor is paved (yes, paved. As in asphalt) and so is rough, uneven and full of divots. The tiles were worse. Forget using a creeper on them.

If you have concrete, use one of the epoxy coatings. If you're completely fooked, like me, get a couple of sheets of Masonite and put those down.

matrussell122 05-11-2018 10:35 AM

This picture is from zillow from before I bought my house. The crack down the center is roughly 3/8" vertical change so i would have to grind that prior to any coating. Also notice how there are no outlets anywhere. Once the yard is all done I get to transition to remodeling the shop.

I had a giant 1/2" wide crack in my garage. Filled it with concrete crack filler and painted over it. It's worked out great.

Mine is a vertical crack though. pretty tight laterally but big step vertically

Try using a surface sealer containing aggregate.
