cjernigan 03-22-2007 02:13 PM

Just filled my DD with reg for 2.79 last night, and that's a great price for CT. 91 is right around $3.10.

hustler 03-22-2007 03:18 PM

lol at getting 11 mpg on the race track. My daily gets 36mpg...so I don't really give a crap about gas prices. Fuck em.

Mach929 03-22-2007 03:31 PM

fuck em doesn't really make sense when you're paying them regardless of the price

Mach929 03-22-2007 03:31 PM

btw we're at like 2.80 here

jhoexp 03-22-2007 03:56 PM

2.5$ per gallon means 0,66$ per litre, right?

So it's 0,5 Euro/litre.

In Europe we pay 1.3 Euro/litre. :sadwavey: :sadwavey:

steelrat 03-22-2007 04:08 PM

Agreed...... It's been around or just over a $1/ litre here..... so.... that's over 4 bucks USD / gallon. And that's for only regular..... at 14c CDN /L for the Ultra 94.

You guys don't know what expensive is yet. <G>

Dave,

2.53 today for 85

Philip 03-24-2007 10:52 AM

there was a news story about someone setting a bunch of H2's on fire, I wonder if it wasn't the owners :gay:

Dr. Nick 03-24-2007 11:21 AM

I hope this means my "raise gas prices" dance is working. Crossing my fingers oil goes over $70/barrell again. COME ON!!!!

1991BRG 03-24-2007 11:39 AM

Drove by the gas station last night on the way home, $2.44 for unleaded ($0.14 increase in 2 days). :vash:

85!! What do you do with an 85 - lawn mowers? Molotovs? Maybe a car with no compression?

Ben 03-24-2007 07:49 PM

uhhh higher altitude = less oxygen density = lower combustion pressure and temperature
:gtfo:

it's called my house is over 6200 feet.

xturner 03-25-2007 08:03 AM

oops. Guess that would help explain why you'd want a blower on the GTO. Just never occurred to me that the altitude could affect cylinder pressure that much.

You should run the highest Octane available in lawnmowers. There is little else to help prevent detonation in those little air cooled engines. All the little engines in my house get 93 octane, lawnmower, tractor, chainsaws ( I heat w/ wood), weedwacker, ect...

Gas dropped to 2.83/gal here.

I was in W. Lebanon NH last week, I stopped @ a place that was 2 cents cheaper then the Shell across the street...
I started pump'n, then I noticed there super was only 91 (v. the 93 For 2 cents more) F'ers...I was more pissed because I was getting overcharged for 91 then missing out on the 93....

Some Shells carry 94 up here...

actually... I bought one about 4 years ago with a little briggs and it specifically says not to run premium or it can damage the valves. Thinking like you I ran it and fucked up the engine.

No sh1t!!!

The only owners manual I ever read...Guy thing :) Was the one for my Husky...Which states always use the highest grade available...

FWIW, I have burned out two motors so far in my chainsaw... maybe I should switch to the cheap stuff too...

I have no idea why it says that. Maybe it burns a little hotter and toasts the valves, I dunno.

It got so bad that to start it I had to pull the plug, give it a squirt of starter fluid right into the chamber, then put it together real quick and start it. Really sucked ass if it was hot already.
It started this the first month I had it, after maybe 4-5 uses so all I can think is that they were right :o

Now I have a honda and it starts first pull, and I do run premo in that one, with sta-bil, same for the snow blower that cranks up right away every time, even when it's 0 out. Never even USED the electric start.

the snow blower is running mobil 1 too.

Philip 03-25-2007 08:37 PM

my snowblower engine manual (tecumsah snow king) says you can use reg or premium, no leaded. briggs must be the oddball.

RicanmiataRacer 03-25-2007 08:47 PM

2.70 for premium
