lewisville, but I'm working in OKC until November or so. Then I'm taking 2 weeks off to build the car, tune it, and have a maiden track day.

I'm seriously itching to put this car together now. Unfortunately I have to do "miatas at hallet" with the stock 1.6.

Very nice, what did that run you including shipping?

$580 I think. It was cheaper for a 1.6 car for some reason.

m2cupcar 08-05-2007 05:23 PM

just a thought - make sure you mount an extinuisher in your car in time for the maiden track day

speedf50 08-05-2007 05:24 PM

Is that a cat, straight pipe, or resonated test pipe? And was that included in the price?

I want your exhaust! And funds...

lazzer408 08-05-2007 06:08 PM

I predict a deap tone with some rap at wot/top end.

magnamx-5 08-05-2007 06:10 PM

id settle for his funds.

Ben 08-05-2007 06:31 PM

holly balls, $600 for an enthuza. F that.
I'm sure it's nice though. I thought the 3" duals were like $400.

BTW someone stole my enthuza 2.75" budget turbo.

Snowsurfer03 08-06-2007 12:02 AM

Woah??? My Enthuza was way cheeper! Like 2 0r 3 something?

No tip? I got mine with a borla muffler and a stainless tip. Sounded good.

yeah back when chad ran it a single 3" was like $300. Though that looks better than his work.
Someone should email him and see if he wants to advert here...

It was $580 with the "bullet" cat. Jason from enthuza insisted this cat robs very little power, so I went ahead with it for an additional $100. No tip. It looks cooler, cheaper, and no nonsense.

In regards to the funding comments...I've lived out of a suitcase in a hotel since 10/6/06 with only 9 days at home. The overtime, per-diem, and lack of spending money on useless shit adds up. I'm taking a6 weeks off in early 2008 for Napa, then either snowboarding or to central America for 2 weeks.

Speaking of funds...I can't decide if I want 6UL's, wilwoods, or both...lol.

actually, i'm not even sure it's nice. the last enthuza i had (on the 99) looked like it's welded in some backwaters of GA.

wait. aren't they still welded in some dude's backyard somewhere in ATL? :gay:

$600 for a Miata exhaust. that'd buy.. about 1/5 of my car. F that big time.

Rage_Kage 08-16-2007 01:49 AM

residence inn at 240&35. I've been here since 2/9/07. I go back to dallas for like 24 hours once per month if possible.

Rage_Kage 08-17-2007 05:35 PM

Do you have to pay or is your employer? Where are you workin?

Damn, dude, what do you do? My longest stretch was six months at the Extended Stay America in Amherst, NY (suburb of Buffalo). That job was 10-14 hours a day, seven days a week, with one day off in total. Second longest was 4 months (to the day) at the ESA in Burbank CA. Lots of radio stations to build...

I hear you about the overtime, per diem, and lack of general BS spending. The Buffalo gig was my first job out of college. I arrived penniless, and when I got home I paid cash for a new Integra, a big-screen TV, etc.

Ironically, I'm typing this from a Residence Inn in St. Louis. Only been here a week tho, and leaving tomorrow. :bigtu:

I work for FEMA in a temporary office in midwest city. FEMA pays for everything. $50 per day for per-diem, they pay for my hotel, they pay for fuel, and pay for my rental. I also pull 15 hours of OT per week. :bigtu: It helps.

I'm a "natural hazard mitigation planner" today. I also do a program called 404, 406 project review, and NFIP management. I pretty much deal with any project that lessens the affects of natural hazards, the money behind them, and I manage the mitigation planning program for the region.

Since Katrina I've payed off my $18k credit card bill, bought a notebook computer, subaru outback, $10k in miata shit, membership at a local racetrack, and I'm about to buy a 64"dlp after I take 2 months off to travel around the US and see if I can't hit a chopper drop in Alaska.

I have a good portion of money, but absolutely no social life. I am like a machine that gets up at 6 to work 7am-6pm, then lift until 8, 45 minutes of cardio, cook dinner, and go to bed; every day. I am also 90 minutes from a bad ass track, so i'm there once per month for a track day, but my car is still stock.

Hopefully i have a job lined up for me in the office after this disaster...if I don't go to wherever Dean hits.

I couldn't do it without Residence Inn. They make traveling and extended stays bearable. I've lived in marriots for like 20 months now (3 months in a W Hotel was nice); I have more reward points than god.

Philip 08-18-2007 08:11 PM

fuck that. I have a good crew, I'm close to a great track, close to home, and will have too much shit to take home. However...I'd love to get sent down by Houston so I can run MSR houston.

At least if I go down south I can show up at BEGi in person and trade out the parts I need.

Is this just a "piss on the young guys for a few years" gig? I mean, is there the possibility in the future to sleep in your own bed more often than not, or will you need to find a different job for that? I did an on-site assignment for a couple years to get out of debt, but after that I was able to have a regular office job - I'm not sure I could do the long-term hotel bit for a whole career.

Yes and no. Its mostly retired people doing this gig. They work 6 months, take the other 6 off...and they typically bring their spouses and shit like that.

I hope to end up with a permanent job, but considering employment with the federal government is an entitlement program for x-military, I am not totally confident that it will come to fruition. However, Its nice to pay in as much as I am on student loans. My social life has taken a real hit. However, I've had a ton of time to hit the gym daily. I would love to go public and contract on the other side of this gig, but I'll do that out of necessity before I choose to do it.

If you really want too much information...right now, I'm about at my whit's end with work, and need to go home for a while. However, my roommate is now engaged, and I have a new roommate so I don't really want to go home either. I mean shit, I've been home just over 30 days in almost 2 years...and I have a miata to build when I get there.
