glad I got my DC inspection yesterday.

so I drove down to the inspection station with my turbo-free 01 yesterday.
that means 2 years before I have to do it again. But I wonder... since I can't find jack about DC inspection online, what do they actually inspect? They *never* even popped the hood.

They gave me a printout and here's what was on it:

Safety Result: PASS
Brake Test Result: Goodwin Kit Rocks. I mean PASS
Idle Emissions Test Results: ISC: N/A, CO: N/A
OBD Result: PASS
Catalyst Result: PASS
Gas Cap Test Result: PASS
Overall Result: PASS

Individual test results:
Gas Cap Pressure Reslt: .04 inH20 (limit: 6.69) Result: PASS
OBD Result: .... PASS
So I guess as long as I have no codes and no stank-pipe... I'm good. bizzare. Dude didn't even stall the twin plate clutch. :)

oh and here's why it was good that I went yesterday:

the end. soon as it's not snowy or cold I start reinstalling.

sounds like ATL - OB2 they only look for a code, if OBD1 then you get the sniffer.

Did it really snow there? It was 70f - spring-like here.

they use the OBD2 to test the catalyst... it would be very easy to fake.

yeah, we got 4-5 inches without really any good weatherman warning...

mmm snow

12 inches since friday night here. I'm ready for spring.

Illinois just took away all testing for 95 and older cars. OBDII cars are the only ones tested anymore.

I can only say how happy I am... 2 turbo cars moving from emissions free Michigan... the emissions is the only thing thats kept me from moving my cars here :p

Somebody needs to figure out the emissions thing. IMO all cars should be sniffed. A well tuned diy/aftermarket turbo car is going to pass a typical sniff test for daily driving IF tuned for that test. It may not get the absolute best mileage, but it will emit less polution.

AAAAAHHH MOFO, I just had mine test over the summer. Pain in the ass the workers always do the long dyno test at least twice because they are borderline retarded
